Locations : Major cities including NYC, Washington DC & Boston
Duration : January-December, 2027
Hours : 5–10 hours per week, depending on fellowship tier (see below), with flexible scheduling designed to accommodate the schedules of working young professionals.

About the Fellowship
J Street is launching an exciting new opportunity to bring young professionals into your communities.
A J Street Young Professional Fellow is a part-time, paid Young Professional who serves as a local organizer and community-builder for J Street’s Young Professional program in a designated city or region.
Fellows help J Street identify, recruit, engage, and develop Young Professionals, while creating consistent opportunities for YPs to build community, take action, and deepen their connection to J Street. You will plan and facilitate regular YP programs, social gatherings, and opportunities for YPs to build relationships with one another.
Fellows are both organizers and connectors. They build relationships with YPs, create opportunities for meaningful engagement, learn about individuals’ interests and strengths, and help connect them to the J Street staff, leaders, chapters, and engagement pathways that are the best fit for their interests and level of involvement.
What Fellows Will Do
Young Professional (YP) Fellows will:
- Build relationships: Conduct 1:1 outreach, coffee meetings, and follow-up with current and prospective Young Professionals, including J Street U alumni transitioning into the YP program, and participate in monthly YP Fellow cohort meetings and trainings.
- Grow the local network: Identify and recruit new Young Professionals (YPs) through J Street networks, local Jewish communities, and personal networks, and maintain an engaged local network between events.
- Execute local programming: Plan and execute approximately 4-5 local YP events or engagement opportunities each year, depending on the fellowship level and local context.
- Develop leaders: Identify YPs with leadership potential and create opportunities for them to host, organize, volunteer, and take on greater leadership within J Street.
- Build pathways into J Street: Learn about YPs’ interests and help connect them to the J Street staff, leaders, chapters, and engagement opportunities that are the best fit for their interests and level of involvement. Connect YPs to J Street advocacy, political engagement, educational programming, communal opportunities, chapters, and other ways to take action.
- Support the broader YP strategy: Share local context, emerging opportunities, and feedback with the Assistant Director of Young Professional Engagement and relevant Engagement Team staff.
- Track and communicate engagement: Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, attendance, interests, and follow-up in Salesforce and communicate relevant updates to J Street staff.
- Collaborate across J Street: Participate in relevant regional meetings, trainings, and team check-ins and help integrate local YP engagement into the broader J Street network.
