About this role

TAX OPERATIONS

The Global Tax team’s mission is to support the firm’s compliance with the tax laws and associated reporting obligations of the countries and local jurisdictions in which the firm conducts business. Global Tax analyzes and supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations and transactions of the firm’s business lines so that tax consequences and reputational risks are evaluated appropriately.

OPERATIONS

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted function that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading, and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this service-delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and reputation. Operations develops the processes and controls and helps specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity across the business.

YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking an Analyst to join the Tax Operations team to support the firm’s tax reporting obligations, digital transformation, and control governance. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of core tax systems and processes, applying quantitative rigor and an inquisitive mindset to identify control gaps, remediate processing breaks, and drive sustainable operational improvements. The candidate will be part of the "Change the Bank" initiatives by leveraging BI platforms and AI tools to automate workflows and enhance reporting efficiency. You will collaborate with global teams on critical regulatory tax reform implementations such as FATCA and CRS - while continuously monitoring the regulatory landscape and acting as a regional operational point of contact. Throughout these initiatives, you will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Controllers, and Business Stakeholders to strengthen the internal control environment, retain critical specialist knowledge, and ensure strict compliance with global tax authorities.

OUR IMPACT

Tax Operations supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations and transactions of the firm’s business lines so that tax consequences and reputational risks are evaluated appropriately. The team manages end-to-end information reporting and withholding governance as well as U.S. and CRS documentation validation, reporting, and Swiss withholding tax reconciliations - while fielding cross-border client tax inquiries. Furthermore, the team evaluates regulatory and business changes to design robust internal controls, partnering closely with Engineering to automate workflows and scale strategic platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- U.S. Information Reporting & QI Compliance: End-to-end reconciliation, withholding tax accounting, and electronic submission of IRS Forms 1042, 1042-S, 1099, and Schedule K-1 packages, ensuring strict Qualified Intermediary (QI) compliance and ledger-to-deposit alignment.
- Global CRS & U.S. Documentation: Multi-jurisdictional FATCA and CRS reporting programs - overseeing account scoping, XML schema validation, and regulatory filings - while leading annual W-8/W-9/CRS solicitation campaigns to remediate documentation defects, including CRS and U.S. Tax Form validation.
- Risk Governance & Strategic Transformation: Served as the regional tax operations SME and risk controller, driving control remediation, leading regulatory change initiatives (FATCA/CRS), and optimizing operational tax workflows across global teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, along with 1–3 years of relevant industry experience in financial services, operations, or accounting.
- Analytical & Control Mindset: Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, supported by a strong risk-and-control mentality and meticulous attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and standard office productivity suites.
- Understanding of financial-services operations, transaction lifecycles and upstream data or booking dependencies; ability to learn relevant tax rules and apply them operationally.
- Communication & Relationship Management: Aptitude for building collaborative relationships and communicating complex technical and operational topics clearly across diverse internal stakeholders.
- Workload & Priority Management: Self-motivated, proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability; demonstrated capability to organize and manage multiple competing, time-sensitive deliverables.
- Resilience & Collaboration: Flexible, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax, data and control matters clearly.
