Job Overview
The Georgetown Center for the Constitution (GCC), founded in 2012, offers a variety of programs on constitutional law and theory at Georgetown Law, placing special emphasis on how best to remain faithful to the Constitution's text. Led by Faculty Directors Randy Barnett and Stephanie Barclay, the Center organizes numerous programs on constitutional law and theory. As an exempt, managerial-level professional, the Operations & Project Manager serves as the operational backbone of the Center. Working in tandem with the Program Manager (who oversees the substantive execution of scholarly events and fellowships), the Operations & Project Manager takes ownership of the Center’s daily operations, complex executive scheduling, event logistics, and financial tracking. Furthermore, this role will lead the Center into its next phase of growth by overseeing grant management, managing external contractors, and potentially spearheading a pioneering new Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative. To ensure the Center runs flawlessly, the Operations & Project Manager also provides daily workflow direction and task delegation to the Center's support staff. Furthermore, this role provides comprehensive administrative support for general Center operations and assists the Faculty Directors with administrative and operational needs related to their classes, academic work, and overarching Center initiatives as directed. The ideal candidate is a strategic, proactive, and detail-oriented leader with a strong interest in constitutional law.
Work Interactions
The Operations & Project Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely as a strategic partner with the Faculty Directors. This position interacts regularly with high-profile guests, distinguished legal scholars, and university administration. While formal HR supervision remains with the Executive Director, the Operations & Project Manager provides daily workflow direction and task delegation to the Program and Operations Assistant.

- Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
- 2–5 years of progressive professional experience in program management, operations, or high-level administrative support, preferably in an academic, non-profit, or legal setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing grants, budgets, and external contractors/vendors. Experience leading technology or digital initiatives (such as AI or web development projects) is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, delegate effectively, and mentor junior staff with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of interacting professionally with high-level faculty, judges, and distinguished guests.
