About this role

Overview

FinOps & ValueOps Operations Engineer on our team, you'll be part of a collaborative group responsible for supporting the automation of cloud and AI cost operations and value-tracking processes across RealPage's multi-cloud environment; using AI-driven tooling to streamline cost governance, budget monitoring, and reporting workflows, while maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and executing day-to-day operational tasks that keep the FinOps & ValueOps practice running smoothly, and staying current with emerging AI and automation technologies.

Responsibilities

- Support FinOps & ValueOps automation strategies, migration plans, and technical assistance for low to high level complexity projects.

- Tests and evaluates cost automation systems and AI models to eliminate problems and make improvements.

- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contributes to knowledge transfer to the FinOps & ValueOps team to ensure a smooth onboarding of new automation deployments

- Executes day-to-day FinOps & ValueOps operational tasks, including budget guardrail monitoring, cost anomaly triage, tagging remediation, and ticket-based support requests.

- Implement and manage AI-driven cost automation and budget guardrail systems within a secure multi-tenant cloud (AWS, GCP, and Azure) & On-prem environment.

- Works in support of implementing standard designs from the FinOps & ValueOps Engineering team for automation projects including configuring, troubleshooting, documentation, optimization and requirements gathering for FinOps & ValueOps Operations

- Provides direct operational support, including after hours as needed, for production-related cost and value-reporting issues.

- Provides engineering expertise in identification of process improvement and automation opportunities using AI/ML techniques

- Maintain working knowledge of FinOps, Value Operations, AI/ML, and Cloud technologies and supporting solution areas and develop new automation integrations and solution capabilities.

- Research, evaluate and stay ahead of curve on emerging AI, automation, and FinOps/ValueOps tools, techniques, and technologies.

- Demonstrate strong ‘Consultative based mindset’ with strong listening and collaboration skill for uncovering unmet technology-based needs and translating the requirements into strategic solutions

- High motivation level and an appetite for fast-paced team environment; readily adaptable to changing market and organization requirements.

Qualifications

- 2+ years of validated experience in financial operations (FinOps), cloud cost management, or IT operations support in a medium to large globally diverse environment

- hands-on experience building automation scripts, dashboards, and monitoring/analyzer tools supporting Hybrid Environments

- Automation experience with Python and/or AI-assisted tooling (e.g., LLM-based agents/assistants) strongly preferred

- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation) or cloud cost management certification preferred

- knowledge of cloud billing and cost management platforms, including - AWS Cost Explorer/CUR, GCP Billing Export, and Azure Cost Management – is required

- knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and techniques for automation, including - LLM-based agents, anomaly detection and predictive analytics – is required

- knowledge of tagging/labeling governance and cost allocation practices with Terraform is strongly preferred. Experience with cost allocation models, budget guardrails, and chargeback/showback reporting.

- Troubleshooting skills across various cloud cost, billing, and reporting platforms

- Operational experience with budget guardrail enforcement, alerting, and dashboarding tools; ability to write and maintain SOPs and operational runbooks.

- Ability to write and maintain detailed SOPs, methods of procedure, and operational documentation, including creation of Visio/Lucid Charts diagrams.

- Basic knowledge with an Agile Scrum framework with the ability to work on stories in sprints.
