A day in the life.
A day in the life of a Client Manager on our Employee Health & Benefits team is dynamic, collaborative, and focused on delivering exceptional client service. Client Managers directly manage relationships with HR, Benefits, and Payroll contacts, addressing day-to-day needs such as claim resolution, billing questions, eligibility issues, and other intermediate-level concerns. They monitor potential escalations, keep Strategic and Consultant partners informed of significant client developments, and coordinate with internal support, specialty, compliance, communications, implementation, and technology teams to ensure client needs are met accurately and efficiently.
Client Managers play an important role in developing and executing client strategy. They prepare market strategy materials, benchmarking requests, marketing submissions, proposals, cost analyses, benefit comparisons, client presentations, and enrollment communications. They oversee the collection and review of census, plan, rate, claims, policy, contract, and other client documentation; negotiate pricing and contract terms with carriers and vendors; and support open enrollment and implementation activities. Throughout the client lifecycle, Client Managers maintain accurate records in the agency management system, organize client files, manage deliverables from internal and external resources, and collaborate regularly with consultants and peers. With confidence and sound judgment, they help develop creative benefit packages, guide client decision-makers, and contribute to client retention and new business opportunities.
