About this role

Job Title: Structural Analysis Engineer Job Description The Advanced Structural Analyst supports the design and development of advanced reactor systems by performing dynamic structural analysis and engineering evaluations. This role focuses on assessing system and component performance under seismic, transient, and other dynamic loading conditions while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and requirements. The engineer contributes directly to critical design decisions and qualification activities for complex reactor systems. Responsibilities

- Perform dynamic structural analyses, including seismic, modal, response spectrum, and transient evaluations for advanced reactor systems and components.
- Conduct interference and fit-up assessments for complex assemblies and integrated systems to ensure proper integration and performance.
- Perform Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) sizing and specification activities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards.
- Develop clear and accurate engineering calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation to substantiate design decisions and analysis results.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support reactor system design, qualification, and verification activities.
- Utilize simulation tools, including ANSYS and similar platforms, to evaluate structural behavior and inform design optimization.
- Ensure that structural analyses and design recommendations comply with relevant engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Support design reviews by presenting analysis methods, assumptions, and results to internal stakeholders and external reviewers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices for dynamic and seismic evaluations.

Essential Skills

- Minimum of 20 years of relevant engineering experience in structural analysis or closely related disciplines.
- At least 10 years of experience performing dynamic structural analysis for complex mechanical or civil structures.
- Extensive experience with seismic analysis, including modal, response spectrum, and transient methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to perform dynamic structural analyses for advanced reactor systems or similarly complex engineered systems.
- Strong proficiency with ANSYS simulation tools for structural and dynamic analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering standards and industry codes applicable to structural design and PRV sizing.
- Proven ability to develop detailed engineering calculations and comprehensive technical reports.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience with stress analysis for complex structures and components.
- Experience in structural analysis for seismic and other dynamic loading conditions.
- Familiarity with transient analysis methods and tools.
- Experience with additional simulation platforms such as COMSOL or similar engineering analysis software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple analysis tasks and meet project deadlines while maintaining high technical quality.

Work Environment This position operates in a professional engineering environment focused on the design and qualification of advanced reactor systems. The role involves extensive use of structural simulation tools such as ANSYS and may include work with other platforms like COMSOL for specialized analyses. Work is primarily computer-based, involving detailed modeling, data evaluation, and technical documentation, with regular collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Typical hours follow a standard full-time schedule, with flexibility driven by project needs. The organization offers paid holidays and paid time off, supporting worklife balance.
