NHC HealthCare Lawrenceburg is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Health Information Management (HIM) Director to join our team!
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate health information records, ensuring compliance with established documentation standards, and supporting the center's health information management operations.
Working under the guidance of the Regional Health Information team, the HIM Director helps maintain the policies and procedures established for the center's medical recordkeeping practices.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, complete, and organized medical records in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Oversee health information management and medical recordkeeping procedures.
- Ensure proper ICD-10-CM coding and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical record audits and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with nursing, administration, and other departments to maintain accurate documentation.
- Support documentation requirements related to skilled nursing care and PDPM.
Qualifications
- Background in Health Information Management or Health Information Technology.
- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), CCA, or CCS certification preferred.
- AHIMA membership and ongoing continuing education preferred.
- Prior ICD-10-CM coding experience required.
- Prior Skilled Nursing Center experience with PDPM preferred but not required.
- MDS completion experience preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
