Mechanical Engineer

Description

This role builds and maintains a cross-program dataset of fastener applications. It records each joint, the fastener used, and the part numbers in the stack. It then packages that data for design reviews that target fastener commonization and reduction. It is a data and engineering role. The role supports the design engineers (DEs) and Fastener Engineering.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect joint stack information from design engineers across vehicle and energy programs, maintaining a structured dataset for this information
Check for EBOM/MBOM alignment across multiple factories
Prepare packages of joint stacks for design reviews in alignment with execution pace targets
Report progress and bottlenecks to Fastener Engineering and Technical Program Management teams
Participate in design reviews to identify part interchangeability and determine opportunities for part consolidation across programs

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management, or a similar discipline
Ability to read assembly CAD, drawings, and BOM structures
Basic understanding of bolted joint principles (grip length, torque/clamp load, fastener types, etc.)
Bias for action and communication; attention to detail and data discipline
Experience with Excel, Jira, database tools and PLM systems preferred

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
