About this role
As a Strategic Accounts Manager, you will serve as the primary owner and strategic driver for a portfolio of highly valued customer accounts. Exercising excellent judgment and working independently with minimal instruction, you will be accountable for both long-term account planning and the day-to-day execution of targeted sales strategies. You will collaborate seamlessly across internal teams and partner networks to deliver joint solutions that solve complex customer challenges.
By deeply understanding your customers' business objectives, you will align Red Hat’s capabilities to meet and exceed their needs, firmly establishing Red Hat as their trusted strategic partner.
Note: This role regularly involves contact with confidential and highly sensitive customer information, requiring strict adherence to Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.
What You Will Do
In this role, your daily and weekly routine will be dynamic, balancing strategic planning with active customer engagement and operational excellence. Your core responsibilities include:
- Account Strategy & Planning: Own the end-to-end account planning process for your assigned portfolio. You will constantly refine and execute these strategies to ensure they align directly with both customer needs and Red Hat's business objectives.
- Customer Engagement & Retention: Act as the trusted advisor for your accounts. You will manage the customer relationship lifecycle with a steadfast focus on long-term success and retention, quickly intervening to independently resolve moderately complex issues and escalating only when necessary.
- Ecosystem Collaboration: Actively co-create and execute joint sales strategies with our vital ecosystem partners, including IBM, hyper-scalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), leveraging these relationships to achieve mutual success.
- Pipeline & Forecast Management: Drive pipeline growth to meet assigned sales targets. You will diligently manage your sales forecasts, track activities, and schedule follow-ups to maintain momentum on all active deals.
- Sales Hygiene & CRM Administration: Maintain meticulous records within the Red Hat Sales Cloud. You will proactively track customer data, model impeccable sales hygiene, and use company-standard CRM tools to ensure all strategic account plans are backed by accurate data.
What You Will Bring
To be successful in this role, you must bring a blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building expertise, and operational discipline.
- Proven Account Management Experience: Demonstrated success in B2B enterprise sales or strategic account management, preferably within the software, cloud, or open-source technology sectors.
- Strategic Execution: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing strong business acumen to build and execute comprehensive account plans that drive revenue and retention.
- Partner Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience collaborating and co-selling with major technology partners, cloud hyper-scalers, and ISVs to deliver comprehensive joint solutions.
- Operational Excellence: Strong proficiency in CRM tools (experience with Salesforce or Red Hat Sales Cloud is highly preferred) and a track record of rigorous pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and excellent sales hygiene.
- Problem-Solving & Judgment: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to resolve moderately complex customer issues swiftly and diplomatically while protecting sensitive customer data.
- Communication & Alignment: Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex customer business needs into actionable Red Hat solutions.
