Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Nomura is looking for Backup & Storage Engineering team member who will be part of the Nomura’s Backup & Storage systems. The said candidate will be responsible for design, engineering, & automation of Nomura Backup platform on-premises & on the Public Cloud

The role is based out of Mumbai, India and will be part of the Nomura Service India Pvt Ltd.

With an objective to ensure a highly automated, scalable & user-friendly Backup platform, the candidate will work on various projects & deliveries in the Backup & Storage work stream

Required Experience & Skills

- Automation Orchestration: Strong proficiency with Ansible Core and Ansible Tower (AWX), including job templates, workflows, and dynamic inventories.

- Programming Languages: Advanced Python scripting skills, specifically using libraries for API consumption (requests), data manipulation (pandas), and testing.

- Version Control: Hand-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipeline (Gitlab/Jenkins) to integrate automation workflows and streamline deployment.

- Cloud: Experience od backup and storage workloads on public cloud like AWS.

- Data & Reporting: Experience in reporting/dashboard tools like Power BI/Graffana and manipulating JSON, XML, and CSV data formats to generate executive-ready performance metrics (added advantage).

- Backup Architecture: Hands-on administration and knowledge of NetBackup (added advantage).

- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.

- Documenting system designs & process workflows

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks and roles to automate daily NetBackup operations.

- Create reusable, secure Ansible roles/modules for backup agent deployment, policy management, and client updates.

- Manage, schedule, and orchestrate complex infrastructure workflows using Ansible Tower.

- Write clean, maintainable Python scripts to interact with NetBackup APIs (RESTful APIs).

- Build custom integrations between Ansible Tower, NetBackup/Public Cloud, and ServiceNOW ticketing/monitoring systems.

- Design and automate the generation of daily, weekly, and monthly backup reports and dashboards.

- Manage all infrastructure code and automation scripts using Git and maintain repositories within GitLab, ensuring version control standards and collaboration best practices are followed.

- Work closely with development and operations teams to define infrastructure standards, troubleshoot complex issues efficiently, and ensure seamless software releases.

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all automated systems and processes and drive the adoption of DevOps and SRE best practices.
