Quarry Supervisor

Heidelberg Materials are now recruiting for a Quarry Supervisor to join the team at East Guyong Quarry, located approximately halfway between Orange & Bathurst on the Mitchell Highway.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily quarry operations ensuring efficient production, safety compliance, and optimal resource utilisation.

In your new role, you will:

- Manage and supervise all aspects of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing, and screening.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet output targets and quality specifications.
- Monitor and optimize equipment performance, ensuring regular maintenance and repairs.
- Lead, train, and manage quarry personnel, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the quarry site to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate production records, inventory levels, and operational reports.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resource utilization and reduce operational expenses.
Respond to and resolve operational issues and emergencies efficiently.

This role is a great fit for you, if you:

- Proven experience in quarry operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of quarrying techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the mining industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and reporting tools.
- Valid driver's license and relevant heavy equipment certifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
- Relevant degree or vocational qualification in mining, geology, or a related field preferred.
