On behalf of The UK Health Security Agency, we are looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a 4 month contract (Extension likely) based Hybrid in any UKHSA Office nationwide.

UKHSA is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a major network segmentation and security improvement programme within a large-scale enterprise environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering network separation initiatives using Palo Alto technologies while supporting critical national infrastructure projects. You'll join a busy networking team with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

As a Senior Network Engineer , your main responsibilities will be to:

- Lead and support network segmentation and network separation initiatives
- Configure, deploy and optimise Palo Alto firewall solutions
- Manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN and WAN environments
- Support perimeter security and network security improvements
- Troubleshoot complex networking issues and provide technical leadership
- Produce technical documentation and contribute to network design activities
- Work closely with infrastructure, security and project teams to deliver network enhancements
- Act as a senior technical SME for networking and security-related projects

Essential:

- Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall technologies
- Previous experience delivering network segmentation or network separation projects using Palo Alto technologies
- Strong Cisco networking background with CCNA, CCNP or equivalent experience
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, routing and switching technologies
- Experience working within large enterprise environments
- Experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure in secure or regulated environments
- Knowledge of perimeter security and network security principles

Desirable:

- Experience with Extreme Networks technologies, including VOSS, EXOS, SPB or Extreme Site Engine
- Experience within public sector or other highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of network management and monitoring platforms
