You will work closely with clients and London Market facultative reinsurers to develop placement strategies, structure tailored solutions, lead market engagement, and negotiate outcomes across the full placement lifecycle. We will count on you to:
- Lead Power facultative placements from initial enquiry through to binding and post-bind activity, taking ownership of placement strategy, market engagement, negotiation, and execution.
- Work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to understand risk, coverage requirements, and commercial objectives, translating these into clear and effective market submissions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with London Market facultative reinsurers and confidently present risks, negotiate terms, and secure competitive solutions for clients.
- Apply sound broking judgment to assess market appetite, structure placements, identify issues, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Produce and manage high-quality placement documentation, including submissions, quotes, market presentations, slips, cover notes, and contracts.
- Manage multiple placements and competing deadlines while maintaining momentum, accuracy, and clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Oversee the placement lifecycle through to binding and post-bind activity, including contract production, outstanding information, and follow-up with markets and clients.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Marsh to deliver coordinated client solutions and a consistently high standard of service.
- Contribute to the development of team capability, market knowledge, and client relationships across the Power portfolio.
What you need to have:
- Strong experience in the Power insurance or reinsurance market, with direct involvement in conventional and renewable power risks through broking, underwriting, placement, or closely related technical activity.
- Experience working within a Power-focused broking team, with practical exposure to London Market placement and regular engagement with underwriters and facultative reinsurers.
- Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering facultative placements, including analyzing risk information, shaping submissions, managing market queries, negotiating terms, and progressing business through to quote and bind.
- The ability to manage placements with a high degree of ownership, operating confidently and proactively across clients, markets, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong technical understanding of Power risks, together with the ability to apply that knowledge to placement strategy and market presentations.
- Established relationships with London Market facultative reinsurers, or the credibility and market confidence to build and develop those relationships quickly.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with clients, colleagues, and experienced market practitioners.
- Excellent attention to detail and document discipline, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive workstreams while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Preferably ACII qualified or working toward ACII, or committed to equivalent professional development.
What makes you stand out?
- Experience broking Power facultative business, particularly conventional and renewable power risks.
- A proven ability to take ownership of placements and manage the full lifecycle through to contract completion and post-bind follow-up.
- Confidence operating independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven London Market environment.
- Strong technical credibility with clients and underwriters, combined with sound commercial judgment.
- Established relationships across the facultative reinsurance market and a track record of securing positive client outcomes.
- Experience identifying opportunities, anticipating issues, and providing practical solutions before they affect the placement.
- A proactive approach to developing client relationships, market opportunities, and team capability.
