About this role

Meta is seeking a senior communications leader to shape and drive the external narrative around artificial intelligence and innovation across the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, you will develop and execute high-impact communications strategies that advance understanding of Meta's AI products, research, and responsible innovation agenda among media, policymakers, industry partners, and the public across diverse APAC markets. You will serve as a strategic advisor and thought leader, translating complex AI and technology developments into compelling stories that resonate with regional audiences and reinforce Meta's position at the forefront of AI-driven human connection.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead the regional communications strategy for Meta's AI and innovation portfolio across APAC, aligning with global narratives while adapting for local market context and audience priorities
Build and manage relationships with top-tier technology, business, and policy media across APAC markets to drive proactive coverage of Meta's AI products, research, and responsible innovation initiatives
Serve as a strategic communications advisor to APAC leadership and cross-functional partners including policy, product, legal, and research teams on AI-related announcements and issues
Craft and refine executive messaging, briefing materials, op-eds, press statements, and thought leadership content that articulate Meta's AI vision and innovation agenda to external audiences
Identify emerging AI narratives, industry trends, and reputational risks across the region and develop proactive and reactive communications plans to address them
Lead cross-functional collaboration with global communications, policy, and product teams to ensure APAC perspectives are integrated into company-wide AI communications strategies
Manage high-stakes media moments including product launches, research publications, regulatory developments, and crisis communications related to AI and technology innovation
Build and maintain a network of influential stakeholders including journalists, analysts, academic researchers, and industry voices who shape the AI conversation across APAC
Develop measurement frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of AI communications programs and use data-driven insights to continuously refine strategy and execution
Coach and guide communications colleagues and cross-functional partners across the region on AI messaging, media engagement, and storytelling best practices

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, or corporate communications with a focus on technology, AI, or innovation subject matter
Experience developing and executing multi-market communications strategies across APAC, with demonstrated ability to adapt messaging for culturally and linguistically diverse audiences
Experience managing complex, high-visibility communications programs involving AI, emerging technology, or research-driven narratives for a global technology company or equivalent organization
Track record of building and sustaining influential media and stakeholder relationships across multiple APAC markets and driving measurable earned media outcomes
Experience advising and influencing senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on communications strategy, messaging, and reputational risk management Experience communicating AI policy, responsible AI, or technology ethics topics to external audiences including media, regulators, and the public across APAC markets
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Experience leading communications during high-stakes product launches or regulatory moments involving AI or emerging technology in the APAC region
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Demonstrated ability to translate highly technical AI or machine learning concepts into accessible, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences
