About this role
Ready to build a learning function from the ground up?
Mattioli Woods is investing in its people, and we’re building a Learning and Development function to match. As our Learning and Development Specialist, you’ll start with a blank page and shape how we onboard, develop and support colleagues across the firm, creating something genuinely new in financial services learning.
Your focus will be bringing everything together. With CRM already served by an established learning hub, this role will drive development across the rest of Mattioli Woods through one core framework and consistent pathways, working in partnership with our T&C team, EB Academy and Trainee Adviser Academy to support their work rather than build it.
What you’ll be doing
You will:
- design and deliver our Foundation onboarding programme for every new joiner, across every role and acquisition
- build a core capability framework and joined-up learning pathways across the group
- launch Manager Essentials, covering performance conversations, coaching and difficult conversations
- create digital-first learning content in short, modular formats of 10 to 12 minutes
- own our LMS as platform administrator, setting the standards that keep it consistent and easy to use
- work in partnership with our T&C team, EB Academy, Trainee Adviser Academy and CRM hub
- lead a monthly Learning Council to keep learning joined up across the firm
What we are looking for
You will have:
- learning and development experience within financial services, ideally wealth management
- end-to-end experience of owning and administering an LMS platform
- a track record of designing and launching capability programmes from scratch
- experience of building competency or capability frameworks and pathways that work across multiple teams or business areas
- strong stakeholder management skills, with the maturity to support well-run teams rather than direct them
- confidence with data, and the ability to connect learning to business outcomes
CIPD Level 5 or above, experience of acquisition integration and familiarity with CII qualifications would be a bonus.
Why join us?
At Mattioli Woods, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, contribute to high-level decision-making, and grow your career in a supportive, dynamic environment. This role offers autonomy, career progression, and the chance to shape how development works across the whole firm.
