About this role

About Us

Pella Windows and Doors of St. Louis is passionate about delivering exceptional products and service across the eastern half of Missouri and southern Illinois. For more than 80 years, we've set the standard in the window and door industry through professionalism, craftsmanship, and customer care — helping homeowners, builders, architects, and contractors bring their projects to life.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead our shipping, receiving, and logistics operation, build a high-performing team, and drive the kind of continuous improvement that keeps us the partner of choice in a fast-growing market.

You'll manage warehouse staff, assist in coordinating delivery schedules, maintain inventory accuracy, support fleet readiness, and ensure excellent customer service from order preparation through final delivery. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, keeps operations running smoothly, and values safety, communication, and follow-through.

What You'll Do

Run the Site

- Serve as the site leader for the distribution warehouse, owning all inbound, outbound, and logistics activity

- Manage freight contracts and carrier relationships that keep product moving on time and on budget

- Oversee order flow, processing, and consolidation to keep customer commitments on track

- Ensure all orders are picked, loaded, and documented correctly before leaving the warehouse

- Monitor delivery vehicles, equipment, tools, and warehouse facilities to keep them safe, clean, organized, and properly maintained

- Promote and enforce safety procedures, including proper lifting, equipment operation, vehicle safety, and warehouse housekeeping

Build the Team

- Coach and develop hourly team members into a cohesive, high-performing crew

- Assign work based on labor needs, with a constant eye toward operational efficiency

- Recruit and select new talent who fit our culture and can help us raise the bar

- Identify and grow future leaders from within the team

Deliver for the Customer

- Ensure every shipment meets expectations for quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery — with documentation that satisfies compliance and safety requirements

- Guarantee timely, accurate receiving and storage, protecting product integrity every step of the way

- Own the Cycle Count program to keep inventory accuracy sharp

Drive Improvement

- Champion Lean principles, recommending and implementing changes that cut cost and boost productivity

- Develop, refine, and standardize work processes across the warehouse

- Keep safety and EHS compliance at the center of everything the team does

What You Bring

- 5+ years in an operations leadership role, ideally in warehouse or distribution management

- A track record of driving process improvement and hitting warehouse KPIs

- Decisive, resourceful, and calm under pressure — juggling multiple priorities is second nature

- Clear, confident communication with everyone from dock crews to senior leadership

- A coaching leadership style — you lead through influence, not just authority, and genuinely enjoy developing people

- Forklift experience and familiarity with OSHA certification requirements

- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred

The Environment

This is a hands-on role in an active distribution facility — expect to be on your feet, moving through our climate-controlled warehouse, and occasionally lifting or team-lifting components up to 200 lbs. Temperatures can climb during peak season, and steel-toed safety footwear is required on the floor. If you want a desk-only job, this isn't it — if you want to be where the action is, you'll feel right at home.
