Analyst, Business Process Controls and Quality (Fixed Term)

DBS operates shared service centres in China, North America, the Philippines and Scotland.

Core Responsibilities

- Perform walkthroughs with control owners to understand process flows, key controls, systems and evidence produced.

- Execute tests of design and tests of operating effectiveness using approved test scripts and sampling methodology.

- Select samples based on control frequency and risk, and request, obtain and inspect supporting evidence such as approvals, reconciliations, system reports and screenshots.

- Review changes to vendor and customer master data and test master data management controls, confirming each change is authorized, supported by valid documentation and accurately processed.

- Perform the quarterly ERP access reviews, confirming user access is appropriate and following up on access to be removed or changed.

- Perform segregation of duties (SOD) reviews, identifying conflicts and confirming that mitigating controls are in place.

- Prepare complete, reviewable workpapers showing the control objective, procedures performed, samples, results, conclusion and cross-referenced evidence.

- Identify and document exceptions and control deficiencies, including root cause, impact and recommendations, and validate them with control owners.

- Perform remediation validation and retesting of corrected deficiencies, and confirm closure evidence before issues are closed.

- Track testing progress against the testing plan and escalate delays in evidence submission to the BPCQ Team Lead.

- Respond to reviewer notes and to requests from internal and external assurance providers on controls BPCQ has tested.

- Respond to SOX and control inquiries from external auditors, providing workpapers, evidence and walkthrough support as needed.

- Contribute to the controls testing methodology, including test scripts, templates and the testing library.

- Other ad hoc and agreed-upon projects and/or initiatives as assigned.

Technical Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field.

- Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on controls testing experience from internal audit, external audit, SOX testing or a similar role, preferably in a captive BPO or shared services organization.

- Working knowledge of COSO, SOX control testing concepts, test of design versus operating effectiveness, and sampling.

- Familiarity with large ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and filtering large data sets.

- Clear written documentation skills for workpapers and observations.
