Team/Role Overview
You will be joining the Application Infrastructure DevOps team supporting the Citi Finance Application – Finance Full Suite. Our team is directly responsible for the health, availability, scalability, and ongoing modernization of the core application platform that underpins Citi's global financial operations and reporting workflows.
Currently, the platform operates across a hybrid infrastructure comprising on-premises environments (Red Hat OpenShift container platform, virtual machines, and bare-metal physical servers) as well as cloud-hosted environments. Our diverse data ecosystem includes Oracle, OraaS, MongoDB, IBM Object Store, and Snowflake (hosted on Private Cloud – AWS).
What you’ll do
- Manage Hybrid Database Infrastructure: Oversee the day-to-day reliability, performance, capacity, and upkeep of database systems hosted across on-prem physical/VM servers, OpenShift clusters, and Cloud VMs (Oracle, OraaS, MongoDB, IBM Object Store, and Snowflake).
- Lead Cloud Migration Initiatives: Plan, architect, and execute migrations of legacy databases and Big Data platforms from on-premise infrastructure to AWS, GDP (GCP Data Platform), and Snowflake (Private Cloud - AWS) with zero or near-zero downtime.
- Implement AI & Agentic AI Solutions: Develop intelligent agents and automated solutions for real-time telemetry monitoring, automated index/query tuning, proactive anomaly detection, and automated self-healing workflows.
- Containerize & Modernize Workloads: Work with Red Hat OpenShift and containerized database/data services to streamline microservice-to-database connectivity and lifecycle management.
- Ensure Resiliency & Disaster Recovery: Maintain and validate robust High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) frameworks, automated failovers, and backup/restore procedures to meet stringent enterprise finance RTO/RPO targets.
- Automate via IaC and CI/CD: Build reusable Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and Python automation scripts for routine DBA tasks, patch management, security scanning, access management, and automated release verification.
- Security & Compliance Governance: Enforce strict data governance, data encryption (at rest and in transit), audit trail validation, and vulnerability remediation across all database environments.

What we’ll need from you
- Hybrid Infrastructure & Containers:
- Solid understanding of hybrid infrastructure environments: bare-metal physical servers, Linux VM servers, Cloud VMs, and Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes container platforms.
- Cloud Database Migrations: Proven track record of architecting and executing complex database migrations to AWS and GDP (Google Cloud Platform).
- AI & Automation: Experience building or utilizing AI / Agentic AI / Machine Learning tools or custom Python scripting to automate database operations, telemetry analysis, or performance tuning.
- Scripting & IaC: Advanced proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Performance Engineering: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot slow queries, analyze execution plans, eliminate memory/IO bottlenecks, and tune distributed workloads.undefined

Seeking an experienced Application Database Engineer to manage and migrate our Oracle, MongoDB, and Big Data systems to AWS, GDP, and private cloud platforms like Snowflake. This role is focused on leveraging AI and Agentic AI to build intelligent, automated solutions for database operations, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and migrate Oracle (Oraas) , MongoDB , and Big Data systems to cloud platforms including AWS , GDP , and Snowflake .
- Develop and implement AI and Agentic AI solutions for intelligent database monitoring, automated performance tuning, and self-healing.
- Implement and oversee high availability , disaster recovery , and performance optimization across all database environments.
- Automate database administration, security compliance, and management tasks using scripting and IaC principles.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Strong experience with Oracle , MongoDB , and Big Data technologies.
- Proven track record in cloud database migrations (AWS, GDP).
- Experience developing or maintaining AI/Agentic AI solutions for database automation.
- Expertise in database performance tuning , high availability , and disaster recovery .
- Proficiency in scripting with Python
