Deputy Clerk

FULL TIME / WITH BENEFITS
$21.26 per hour
Washington County is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and service-minded Deputy Clerk I to join the Office of the County Clerk/Auditor. This position supports important County services including elections, voter registration, taxation and abatements, marriage licensing, passports, records management, and customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to the public.
- Process applications, forms, filings, fees, payments, and other transactions accurately.
- Assist with election preparation and operations and voter registration.
- Support marriage licensing, passports, taxation and abatements, and other Clerk/Auditor
functions.
- Maintain, scan, file, archive, and retrieve confidential records.
- Use office software, databases, and specialized County systems.
- Follow applicable laws, policies, procedures, and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- One (1) year of general office, clerical, or customer service experience;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must obtain required Passport Acceptance Agent and VOTE certifications.
- May become a Notary Public as required.
- Spanish fluency is preferred.
- Personal cell phone required.
