At Roche, we are passionate about transforming patients' lives, and we are bold in both decision and action — we believe that good business means a better world. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted, and respected for who you are.

Description

The Diagnostics Insights DevOps team (~14 engineers) serves the product teams of four Agile Release Trains (ARTs) across three pillars: Continuous Integration, Cloud & Continuous Delivery, and On-demand Environments. We define the engineering specifications that products follow, and we build the shared capabilities that implement them: Product CI, a standard deployment chart, and an infrastructure portal.

We are looking for a technical DevOps Delivery Manager to own what the team delivers and when: a clear backlog, firm dates, visible progress, and stakeholders who know what they're getting. The role combines product ownership of the team backlog with coordination across the ARTs, and sits inside the team's day-to-day work rather than above it.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the team backlog across the three pillars. Prioritize it with the ARTs' RTEs and POs, and keep it clean, sized and dated.
- Turn commitments into delivery dates and hold the team to them. Spot stalled work early and unblock it.
- Design and run how progress is tracked and reported: set up the dashboards, metrics (lead time, throughput, predictability, adoption) and reporting cadence that show leadership, ARTs and the team where every commitment stands.
- Promote our shared capabilities (Product CI, the deployment chart, the infrastructure portal) to product teams. Drive adoption and gather feedback.
- Own change management. Every infrastructure change, such as an EKS upgrade, a networking change or a deprecation, is planned, approved, tracked and communicated before it lands, following Roche's change control and compliance process. Product teams know what changes, when, what it affects and what they need to do.
- Run regular backlog reviews with each ART so their needs are correctly captured and prioritized.
- Work with the Engineering Managers and technical leads (Architects) to turn specifications into deliverable increments.
- Drive accountability through influence: working alongside the engineering managers, you get commitments from engineers and stakeholders, follow them up, and escalate only when needed.
- Be part of the team's day to day: support its delivery cadence (planning, reviews, retrospectives), notice when pressure is needed, communication breaks down or ways of working slip, and act on it — run a retrospective, reset priorities, or raise it with the engineering managers. You step into a Scrum Master role when the team needs it; it is part of the job, not the core of it.

Who You Are:

- 5+ years in software delivery, with at least 2 as a Product Owner, Delivery Manager or Technical Program Manager on engineering or infrastructure teams.
- Proven ability to lead through influence: you get commitments from engineers and stakeholders you don't manage, hold them to dates, and can say "not now" to a requesting team while keeping the relationship.
- Technical enough to work inside a DevOps team: you can read a pipeline, understand a Kubernetes deployment and follow a Terraform plan, with working knowledge of GitHub Actions, containers, AWS and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong communication: you can explain a technical change to an engineer and its value to a manager.
- A track record of building delivery tracking and reporting from scratch, not just using it.
- Fluent English and Spanish.

Nice to have:

- Experience with Agile at scale (SAFe or similar) and Jira.
- Previous hands-on role as a DevOps or Platform Engineer.
- Experience in a regulated environment (medical devices, IVD, GxP).
- GitOps, Helm or Backstage experience.
