About this role
ABOUT CFM
Founded in 1991, we are a global quantitative and systematic asset management firm applying a scientific approach to finance to develop alternative investment strategies that create value for our clients.
We value innovation, dedication, collaboration, and the ability to make an impact. Together, we create a stimulating environment for talented and passionate experts in research, technology, and business to explore new ideas and challenge existing assumptions.
Your Role
Market Data – Front Office Support is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timely availability of the market data that feeds the CFM trading activities. It operates at the intersection of data management, technology and finance, and relies on data from multiple external providers to drive diversified investment strategies.
The team relies on an internal web tool that centralizes announcements issued by several market data providers, matches them against the financial instruments referential, enables review and validation by business teams, and forwards them to a ticketing tool. Developed several years ago and recently migrated to newer infrastructure, the tool has never been fundamentally redesigned. It suffers from an aging architecture (hard to maintain, slow), fragile provider integrations, security debt, a poorly responsive UI with repetitive manual review steps, and no automated tests. As a result, operators spend a lot of time on manual reviews, and many announcements require little or no action.
The central project of your internship is to rebuild this application on a more robust, faster and more maintainable foundation, and to use LLM-based agents to assist operators in reviewing and processing announcements, so that they can focus only on the cases that truly require human attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit the existing tool and gather needs from Market Data operators.
- Design a more robust, faster and maintainable architecture.
- Build the new application (or an advanced prototype) and define a migration plan.
- Secure access management and the handling of secrets and sensitive data.
- Make external provider integrations reliable and resilient.
- Automate repetitive tasks (imports, synchronizations, notifications).
- Research AI assistance for current and past announcement review: matching, summarization.
- Simplify communication with users.
- Modernize the user interface for better responsiveness.
- Set up automated tests and a CI pipeline, and document the solution.
Your Skills
- You are pursuing a Master's or engineering school degree (Bac+4/5) in computer science.
- You have a solid foundation in web development, with practical knowledge of Python, Node.js and databases.
- You have an interest in applied AI, particularly LLMs and agent-based approaches.
- You can understand and evolve existing code.
- You are autonomous, take initiative, and are rigorous, curious and have a strong team spirit.
- You are comfortable in both French and English.
- A plus: experience with testing and CI/CD, API integrations, application security, data quality and validation methodologies, financial data or corporate actions.
