At PGIM, You Can!

What you will do

PGIM is seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to join our Global Business Enablement team within Real Estate. This role offers the opportunity to influence how Real Estate captures, scales, and applies information across the investment lifecycle, helping shape the operating model for analytics, automation and decision-making.

The Director will partner across investment, portfolio, asset, operating and functional teams to identify the decisions that matter, establish shared meaning, prioritize the highest-value opportunities, and remain accountable through adoption and value realization.

The role requires strong business judgment, domain fluency, enterprise thinking and the ability to bring leaders together around common priorities, definitions and outcomes. Systems partners will own, architecture, engineering, dashboards and production delivery; the Director will own the business decisions and leadership needed to ensure those capabilities solve the right problems.

This is a hybrid role (on-site 3 times a week) based in Newark, NJ, or New York, NY

What you can expect

·    Capture the questions the business needs answered; identify the users, decisions and outcomes that matter.

·    Build and continuously refine an analytics roadmap, prioritizing use cases, datasets and capabilities based on decision impact, urgency, scalability and enterprise value.

·    Translate business strategy and operating needs into scalable information and analytics capabilities.

·    Lead business alignment on common terminology, calculations, ownership, and authoritative definitions, resolving competing interpretations across teams and regions.

·    Partner with Systems throughout design and delivery, providing clear business requirements and decisions.

·    Lead business validation and certification by confirming accuracy, usefulness, controls, performance, security and readiness with the appropriate stakeholders.

·    Define the adoption approach for each data product, including user guidance, training, workflow integration, access, support and communication of the questions the product can answer.

·    Govern business access and change by partnering with Data Governance and Systems teams to manage sensitive data, approve changes, preserve trusted definitions and encourage responsible reuse.

·    Measure adoption, quality and business impact; prioritize enhancements; expand proven capabilities; and retire content that no longer creates sufficient value.

·    Communicate roadmaps, decisions, risks, dependencies and realized value with clarity and executive-level presence.

·    Work directly with data and source systems to validate assumptions, understand business meaning, and ensure analytics capabilities are grounded in how the business actually operates.

·    Investigate variances, anomalies and reconciliation breaks across investment, portfolio and asset data, running issues to root cause and driving correction at the source rather than adjusting downstream reporting.

·    Use analytical tools to validate opportunities, test hypotheses, and confirm business value before larger investments are made.

·    Define and pressure-test the calculations, business rules and data definitions behind key metrics, validating them against source data so results reconcile across funds, regions and systems.

·    Partner with Systems to ensure datasets and analytics capabilities accurately reflect business processes, decisions, and definitions.

·    Translate recurring analytical requests into durable datasets and reusable analytics, eliminating repeated manual effort and one-off spreadsheet builds.

·    Assess new internal and external data sources for quality, coverage and fit, and determine how they should be integrated to answer priority business questions.

·    Interrogate analytical and AI-generated outputs for accuracy and reasonableness, applying domain knowledge to identify where results do not hold up before they inform decisions.

What you will bring

·         Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, real estate, information systems, data/analytics or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional designation is a plus.

·         Significant experience leading data, analytics, information or decision-support initiatives in Commercial Real Estate, investment management, or similar environment.

·         Deep understanding of how investment, portfolio, asset or operating decisions are made, with the credibility to challenge assumptions and help senior stakeholders reach alignment.

·         Demonstrated ability to frame complex business questions, define scalable information requirements and translate strategy into prioritized roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

·         Ability to work effectively with engineers, data professionals and dashboard developers without taking over their technical delivery responsibilities.

·         Exceptional stakeholder leadership, facilitation, communication and executive storytelling skills, including the ability to build consensus across business areas with different priorities and terminology.

·         Strong judgment amid ambiguity, with a practical orientation toward sequencing work, making trade-offs and delivering incremental value.

·         Strong analytical instincts and a willingness to work directly with data to validate assumptions, investigate issues, and build confidence in business outcomes.

·         Strong quantitative reasoning and data problem-solving skills, including experience working with large, imperfect datasets and diagnosing quality, reconciliation and lineage issues.

·         Practical understanding of data modelling, semantic layers and how Real Estate data is structured across investment, portfolio, asset and operating systems.

·         Intellectual curiosity about data, with the instinct to dig into a number that looks wrong and the persistence to find out why.

·         Working fluency with modern analytics and data platforms, and enough technical depth to engage credibly on data models, SQL, BI tools, cloud data environments and AI-enabled analytical experiences.

·         A collaborative, curious and outcomes-oriented leadership style, with a commitment to trusted information, responsible innovation and continuous learning.
