Application Support Engineer

We are seeking an assertive and committed candidate locating in Nagoya Japan, to join us as Application Support Engineer.

Role Description:

As an Applications Engineer within our global manufacturing organization, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, high-quality solutions to our customers. You will serve as a technical liaison between customers, sales, product managers, customer support, engineering, and operations teams worldwide, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed expectations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, is passionate about experimenting solutions, and is driven to deliver results in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

This position requires hands-on experience with device software, system level functional tests to various standards, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support regional managers to establish professional application support and business development.

- Provide application support to customers and internal stakeholders including marketing and webpage management.

- Collaborate across global teams to propose solutions and quotations to customers.

- Working closely with customers to provide solutions and technical training and support to customers and internal stakeholders.

- Continuous improvement of workflows and processes within the area of responsibility.

- 2nd Level application fault diagnostics, troubleshooting, both in-house and on-site.

- Support on service and calibration requirements by coordinating between customers and factories.

- Support distributors on commissioning, installation and training of products/systems delivered.

- Up to 30-40% domestic travel may be required for support functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree (BSc or BTech) in Electronics Engineering.

- Customer facing. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Fluency in Japanese and English to support Japanese customers and collaboration with global team.

- 3 or more years of experience in application support of electronic instruments.

- Strong electronics background, good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proactive, self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, mission oriented, and a good team player.

- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.

- Ability to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

- Added advantage:

Comfortable with basic lab instruments… multimeters, oscilloscope, AC/DC power supplies, signal generators, power meters, spectrum and network analyzer or other RF related equipment.

- Experienced in Telecoms/RF field and Low-voltage power systems preferred.

- Experienced in International EMC standards, including ISO, IEC, ANSI, MIL, UNECE, …etc.
