About this role
Own your files. Drive your cases. Help clients move forward.
You know how to move a Florida personal injury case from signup to settlement. You stay ahead of deadlines, build strong relationships with clients, and take ownership without waiting to be reminded.
You also understand that behind every file is someone whose life has been disrupted. They deserve a case manager who knows their story, returns their calls, and keeps their case moving.
If that sounds like you, we’d like to meet you.
Viles & Beckman, The 5-Star Law Firm® , is seeking an experienced Florida Personal Injury Case Manager to manage a presuit caseload with initiative, compassion, and accountability.
Work arrangement: Remote or hybrid; Florida-based candidates preferred
Compensation: Hourly pay based on experience and demonstrated performance
Language: Spanish proficiency preferred, but not required
Your Role
You own the file. The attorney leads legal strategy. You drive the case forward.
You will manage approximately 100–120 presuit cases , including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, and other personal injury matters.
Your responsibility begins at signup and continues through settlement and lien resolution, or a coordinated handoff to litigation. Shared legal assistant support helps with claim setup, records retrieval, and lien resolution follow-up, allowing you to focus on substantive case management and client service.
What You’ll Do
- Build trust with clients. Maintain proactive, consistent communication, explain next steps clearly, and make sure clients feel informed and supported.
- Take ownership of case progress. Identify what each file needs, anticipate obstacles, and follow through so cases keep moving.
- Coordinate investigation. Gather facts, obtain supporting documentation, and flag liability, coverage, and evidence issues for the attorney.
- Manage medical case development. Track treatment progress, identify gaps or barriers, and communicate relevant developments to the attorney while respecting that medical decisions belong to clients and their providers.
- Prepare strong demands. Review and summarize medical records and bills, document damages, and write thorough, persuasive demand packages for attorney review.
- Support negotiations. Work with the attorney on settlement preparation, communications, and follow-through under attorney direction.
- Drive lien resolution. Identify outstanding balances and liens, coordinate reduction requests under attorney supervision, and follow through with shared support staff.
- Prepare files for the next stage. Coordinate complete, organized handoffs to closings or litigation.
- Deliver measurable results. Meet established expectations for client communication, file quality, demand preparation, case progression, and settlement activity.
What You Bring
- Prior experience independently managing Florida personal injury presuit cases is required. You should be ready to take ownership quickly.
- Experience managing a substantial caseload while maintaining responsive client service and accurate files.
- Strong demand-writing skills and experience reviewing medical records, bills, and supporting documentation.
- A working understanding of Florida personal injury claims, insurance coverage, case development, and lien resolution.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
- The judgment to work independently, recognize issues, and involve the attorney when needed.
- Clear, empathetic communication with clients and professional communication with providers, adjusters, and teammates.
- Comfort working toward goals and being accountable for results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and case management software. Filevine experience is preferred.
- The ability to remain responsive, organized, and collaborative in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Relevant experience, sound judgment, a solid work ethic and demonstrated results matter most.
