About the Role
We're building a new autonomous driving organization to deliver production-ready L4 autonomy across trucks, buses, passenger vehicles, and robotaxis.
Our approach is ML-first, centered around end-to-end learning, foundation models, VLA models, and world models.
As a founding senior engineer, you'll help define how autonomy performance is measured, validated, and improved across the organization.
We believe evaluation is a first-class engineering problem. The future of autonomy depends not only on building better models, but also on understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and readiness for deployment.
We are looking for builders who can create scalable evaluation, validation, and simulation systems that accelerate autonomy development.
Founding Team Opportunity
- Most autonomy programs were started years ago. The major evaluation methodologies, engineering processes, and validation strategies were established long before today's engineers joined.
We're assembling the founding team that will define and build our autonomy performance framework.
The engineers who join now will have outsized influence on:
- KPI strategy
- Evaluation architecture
- Validation methodology
- Simulation strategy
- Safety readiness process
- Technical roadmap
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve autonomy KPIs and performance metrics.
- Lead development of evaluation and validation infrastructure.
- Design scalable testing and performance analysis methodologies.
- Build simulation-driven validation workflows.
- Develop tools for failure analysis and scenario mining.
- Drive data-informed prioritization of autonomy improvements.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated grit, ownership, and a track record of driving difficult technical problems from ambiguity to successful deployment.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in autonomy, robotics, simulation, ML infrastructure, validation, analytics, or large-scale software systems.
- Strong software engineering and system design skills.
- Experience leading technical projects from concept to deployment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Autonomous driving experience.
- Safety-critical systems experience.
- Simulation platform experience.
- Data mining and analytics experience.
- ML evaluation and benchmarking experience.
- Statistical modeling experience.
Interview Process
- Application Review - Coding Test - 1st interview - 2nd interview - Offer Negotiation - Hiring
- The screening procedures may vary depending on the position, schedule, or other circumstances.
You will be individually notified of the screening schedule and results via the email address provided in your application.
