About this role
Build our future together:
At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Scientist to join the Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry (ABMS) Group. In this role, you will work in an innovative liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry lab, developing and performing top-down and bottom-up mass spectrometry with state-of-the-art LC-MS instruments for therapeutic drug characterization. You will focus on the biochemical characterization of therapeutic proteins at all stages of drug development, developing and implementing LC/MS-based methods for protein primary structure elucidation — including peptide mapping, disulfide linkage determination, carbohydrate profiling, post-translational modifications, sequence variant analysis, charge and size variant characterization, and host-cell protein analysis.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.
When & where:
- Shift Requirements: Full-time
- Location: On-site in Tarrytown, NY
Discover your role:
- Develop primarily LC/MS based analytical methods to support the development of monoclonal antibody-based therapeutic proteins, bispecific antibodies, Fc-fusion proteins, antibody conjugates, and other modalities (adeno-associated virus, mRNA, siRNA, etc.)
- Conduct analytical experiments and analyze LC-MS data to elucidate the quality attributes of therapeutic protein candidates, drug products, and critical reagents
- Develop LC-MS based bioanalytical strategies and high-throughput methods for quantitation of biomarkers and different types of drug candidates, including small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, and other alternative novel modalities in biological matrices, to support preclinical and early-stage clinical PK studies
- Explore novel analytical and bioanalysis technologies and emerging platforms to meet the needs of an evolving portfolio that may include novel molecular modalities and new therapeutic areas
- Collaborate with therapeutic function areas to support drug discovery
- Bring strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Learn new technologies quickly, with good problem-solving skills
- Bring enthusiasm for science and motivation to contribute in a team environment
This role requires:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with 0-5 years of postdoctoral experience, or an MS degree with 5+ years of experience, or a BS degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, with a proven track record of successfully developing MS, LC-MS, or LC-MS/MS methods
- Familiarity with sophisticated liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry technologies, and relevant software for data analysis
