Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries is looking for a strong leader to join our world-class 200mm Manufacturing Operations team. The Sr. Section Manager, Fab 9 Line Control will lead the team responsible for translating factory priorities into daily execution that improves wafer output, starts, moves, cycle time, and delivery performance. This role owns the fab’s daily production management system and partners across Manufacturing, Engineering, Integration, Quality, and Supply Chain to remove constraints, improve flow, and strengthen operational discipline. The successful candidate will help the factory meet more than $700M in annual revenue commitments while sustaining competitive cycle time performance below 2 DPML and identifying practical opportunities to increase output, revenue, and efficiency.
Impact of the Role:
This role is central to improving fab operations by connecting strategy, execution, and cross-functional problem solving. The Line Control Manager will turn production priorities into clear daily actions, improve the speed and quality of factory decision-making, and help build a disciplined operating rhythm that enables safer execution, stronger delivery performance, faster cycle time, and higher factory output. For candidates who enjoy leading through complexity, this role offers the chance to make visible, measurable improvements in how the fab runs every day. Fab 9 is embarking on a significant production ramp in 2026 through 2027. This role is a high-impact leadership role for someone who wants to influence the operating engine of a semiconductor fab. The role offers direct visibility to factory performance, meaningful cross-functional partnership, and the opportunity to shape how daily execution translates into output, delivery, cycle time, and customer commitments. The position provides an opportunity to lead a critical factory function, build talent within the Line Control organization, and develop broader manufacturing leadership capability through exposure to daily operations, executive-level performance updates, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead line control and flow management activities that improve wafer starts, moves, cycle time, wafer outs, and on-time delivery across a complex 200mm semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Drive the daily production management rhythm by translating factory objectives into priorities, tracking execution against commitments, escalating barriers, and ensuring follow-through on actions that improve fab flow.
- Lead across Technology Development, Integration and Yield Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Module Engineering, and Supply Chain Planning to resolve constraints, improve business processes, strengthen teamwork, and deliver measurable improvements in factory performance.
- Lead direct reports and peer managers through complex factory deliverables, balancing output, cycle time, starts, delivery commitments, safety, and resource tradeoffs to make sound business decisions in daily execution.
- Lead teams in a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment where priorities shift quickly and success depends on disciplined execution, clear escalation, and strong alignment across operations and engineering stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly across shifts, functions, and leadership levels to align priorities, accelerate issue resolution, and maintain a tightly coupled production management system.
