About this role

Long Description

You will be a Lead Systems Engineer for the F-35 Reprogramming Labs on the Simulation & System Labs (SSL) Common Stimulator team. This team manages supplier development and delivery of complex stimulation and simulation capabilities used in avionics hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) laboratories.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will lead technical execution across multiple supplier efforts, from acquisition planning and proposal evaluation through development, test, delivery, and sustainment. You will work with project leads, product owners, subject matter experts, systems engineering, Global Supply Chain, and program leadership to establish an aligned technical position and keep supplier work tied to approved scope and laboratory needs. This role requires independent judgment, clear priorities, and follow-through when an issue spans teams or programs.

Your responsibilities include:

* Lead supplier technical execution for Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar, Radio Frequency (RF) stimulation, simulation control, and related avionics test capabilities across multiple laboratory efforts that supports Mission Data File (MDF) development.
* Work with requirements owners and product SMEs to resolve interpretation, traceability, and verification gaps. Ensure supplier plans explain how requirements will be met and how compliance will be demonstrated.
* Bring engineering and program inputs together into a coordinated Lockheed Martin technical position. Resolve internal disagreements and clarify responsibilities before communicating expectations to suppliers.
* Evaluate the technical, cost, schedule, and integration impacts of proposed changes. Coordinate disposition with requirements owners, configuration management, project leads, and Global Supply Chain through the applicable approval process.
* Lead supplier Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and coordinate Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs). Establish clear review expectations, assess supporting evidence, and drive actions to closure.
* Coordinate technical readiness for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and laboratory integration. Review procedures, verification coverage, test results, and open discrepancies; provide substantiated readiness and acceptance recommendations.
* Drive supplier system anomaly resolution, performance shortfalls, and integration issues through root-cause assessment, corrective action, and verification of closure. Establish recovery plans with owners and measurable completion criteria.
* Review supplier technical deliverables and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) submissions for completeness, consistency, and alignment with contractual requirements. Track required corrections through closure.
* Integrate supplier milestones and dependencies with laboratory plans. Identify resource constraints and schedule risks early, and bring forward workable options and the decisions needed to resolve them.
* Represent the Common Stimulator team in customer events and program reviews. Brief technical status, unresolved risks, delivery impacts, and recommended actions in terms stakeholders can use.
* Coordinate component obsolescence, hardware and software modernization, operating-system migration, and sustainment planning with suppliers and laboratory teams.
* Provide technical tasking, priorities, and mentorship to matrixed engineers and team leads. Improve consistency in technical evaluations, supplier reviews, and issue resolution across the team.
