Sr. Platform Engineering Lead

Sr. Platform Engineering Lead – multiple positions open – for Chesterfield, MO to lead design sessions for data processing, storage & delivery solutions; initiate & lead evaluation of new technologies including POCs and present results; implement data solutions according to design documentation; lead code reviews, retrospectives, and functional & integration testing to improve delivery quality; and mentor & train junior data engineers. Requires Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or closely-related field & 2 yrs experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, and/or Scala to build scalable ETL pipelines for terabyte-size datasets; optimizing performance, reliability & security of ETL pipelines using APIs and encryption tools; applying IaaC and version control to data pipelines; using Kafka, Spark, Airflow, IAM, AWS, & GCP to develop scalable and secure data pipelines on multi-cloud platforms; using Redshift, BigQuery, SQL, UDFs, & stored procedures to build scalable data marts, enable distributed data processing, and enforce secure, least-privilege data access with row/column-level security; using cloud monitoring platforms, including AWS CloudWatch & Google Cloud logging, to implement  real-time data pipeline alerting systems; applying FinOps principles to drive cost efficiency and resource optimization strategies; and leading & training data engineering teams, including providing technical guidance during code reviews and evaluation of emerging technologies for platform enhancement. Will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in stated fields with 5 yrs progressive, post-Bachelor’s stated exp. Up to 5% U.S. and int’l travel req’d. Telecommuting permitted from home office location within reasonable commuting distance of Chesterfield, MO up to 2 days per week.  Salary Range: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $192,275.00 to $195,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. The offered salary may vary within this range based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
