About this role

Job Description

Thomson Reuters Tax, Audit and Accounting (TAAP) segment is seeking an experienced Director of Content Marketing to build and lead a comprehensive content strategy that drives demand generation across the entire buyer journey—from awareness through advocacy. You will develop the strategic vision and editorial framework that enables TAAP to reach prospects at each stage of decision-making, engage customers, and drive measurable business outcomes. By establishing a content function rooted in data and powered by a high-performing team, you will create the foundation for sustained growth, deeper customer relationships, and increased revenue impact. This director-level position reports to the VP of Marketing and sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, balancing big-picture roadmap planning with hands-on content development.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the strategic content roadmap—build the annual content strategy aligned with demand generation goals, covering all stages of the buyer journey (awareness, education, consideration, purchase, adoption, renewal, advocacy). Define content pillars, messaging frameworks, and the editorial calendar that ties everything together.

- Drive measurement and optimization—establish content KPIs across the full funnel (engagement, lead generation, pipeline influence, revenue attribution). Build a robust measurement framework leveraging Salesforce, multi-touch attribution, and content analytics. Report on impact to leadership and use data to continuously improve performance.

- Align the channel strategy—work with the segment strategy leads in TAAP to determine the optimal mix of channels to reach your audience (email, paid media, owned platforms, earned media, customer advocacy). Make data-driven decisions about format, length, and distribution by stage and channel. Own the content delivery workflows.

- Align content with ABM and sales priorities—integrate content strategy with account-based marketing efforts and segment-specific initiatives. Work closely with Sales leadership to translate win/loss insights into content. Partner with Product teams to convert feature announcements into compelling customer narratives.

- Lead and develop a small, high-performing team—manage 2-3 content managers and producers. Set expectations, coach on strategy and craft, and grow team capabilities. Get hands-on: write, edit, and produce content yourself. Balance strategic work with tactical execution, modeling both the thinking and the work.

- Build cross-functional alignment—partner with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Product leaders to ensure content supports strategic priorities. Influence marketing roadmaps, advocate for content needs, and deliver against commitments.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive experience in content marketing at the director or senior manager level, with 2+ years managing content teams. You have led content functions and understand how to scale content operations.

- Proven track record building content strategy and translating it into an executable, measurable editorial roadmap. You can articulate the "why" behind your strategy and track progress against clear metrics.

- Analytical mindset with hands-on experience in measurement frameworks, content performance analysis, and optimization. You are comfortable with Salesforce, marketing automation, multi-touch attribution, and analytics tools. You let data guide decisions.

- Excellent writer and editor who can produce clear, compelling, brand-aligned content across formats: long-form thought leadership, case studies, email, web copy, and more. You have strong editorial judgment and an eye for quality.

- Experience in B2B, professional services, or financial services (tax, accounting, audit, legal). You understand buyer complexity, longer sales cycles, and how professionals make decisions.

- Ability to balance strategy with execution. You are comfortable moving between 30,000-foot roadmap planning and rolling up your sleeves to produce content. You thrive at both.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You can influence cross-functional teams, build alignment on strategy, and navigate organizational dynamics with tact and clarity.

Preferred Qualifications

- experience with demand generation, ABM (account-based marketing), customer advocacy programs, or building content functions from the ground up.
