• Organize our downstream UniFi network so devices, ports and connections are set up in a clear, consistent way
• Build and maintain an up-to-date site map showing how our network is laid out and connected
• Set up and manage VLANs to separate traffic for different departments, devices and guest access
• Troubleshoot network issues such as outages, slow connections and Wi-Fi coverage problems
• Act as our main contact with internet service providers for outages, service changes and new installs
• Install, configure, and maintain switches and network racks
• Label all switches, racks, patch panels and cables using a consistent standard
• Clean up and organize cabling in network closets and racks
• Manage our security cameras and security system, including setup, camera coverage, user access and troubleshooting
• Maintain our security server, including storage, recording retention, updates and backups
• Keep firmware up to date and monitor the network for performance and security issues
• Keep network documentation current, including IP addresses, VLANs and equipment inventory
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in network administration or IT support with a networking focus
• Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi gateways, switches and access points
• Solid understanding of VLANs, DHCP, DNS, subnetting and basic routing
• Experience installing and organizing racks, switches and patch panels
• Experience working with ISPs to resolve outages and service issues
• Experience managing security camera systems and video recording servers (NVR/VMS)
• Organized, with a habit of labeling and documenting your work
• Comfortable working hands-on in network closets, on ladders and in warehouse areas
• Able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical people
Nice to Have!
• CompTIA Network+, CCNA or Ubiquiti certification
• Experience with firewalls and VPNs
• Experience with UniFi Protect or UniFi Access
• Experience with alarm or access control systems
• Cable termination and structured cabling experience
