Patient Care Technician
Per Diem
Accountable To: Director of Nursing
The Patient Care Technician is a staff member who maintains the stocking of equipment/supplies, cleaning of the Center, and assisting the nurses and Surgical Technicians in preparation for preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedure duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care Technician duties will consist of, but are not limited to:
- Stocking of new deliveries (supplies and equipment).
- Daily checks with stocking the Center in its entirety.
- Cleaning and room turnovers of the ORs per the Centers policy and procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning in the ORs.
- Assisting with general duties asked for by the other staff members.
- Assist with moving patients from Pre-OP to OR and from PACU to their vehicles
- Assist front desk with their duties including giving breaks
- Always be professional and courteous.
- Follow HIPAA privacy guidelines.
- Multi-tasker, team player, adaptable, and organized a must.
- All other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have BLS
- Must possess knowledge of supplies and equipment.
- Must possess knowledge of proper cleaning technique per the Center’s policy and procedures.
- Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both verbal and written.
