About this role
The role
You will build the storefronts customers shop on and own the measurement mechanisms that tell the business whether they work. You will ship React and Next.js features across our dispensary and brand sites, and you will be the single owner of the analytics implementation, from the dataLayer in our components through Google Tag Manager into GA4 and BigQuery. Technical SEO and our integration with Sweed, the e-commerce and POS platform behind our menus and checkout, are yours too.
You will make sure every tracking code and pixel is installed correctly, captures the data points we target, and sends accurate data to the systems and platforms we rely on, such as Google. Marketing, merchandising and leadership make revenue decisions from that data.
What you will own
- Storefront features. React and Next.js pages and components, built in TypeScript, tested, and accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Measurement. The tracking plan and every link in the chain: dataLayer events, GTM containers, GA4 properties and the BigQuery export. Maintain data quality across the chain, reconcile GA4 against e-commerce revenue, and build automated checks so releases protect tracking.
- Checkout and pixels. Tracking across our embedded checkout, including attribution and consent, and governance of marketing pixels and tags.
- E-commerce integration. Our Sweed integration: menu and product data, store routing and edge cases, including ongoing API integration work.
- Technical SEO. Structured data, sitemaps, canonicals and crawlability across a large catalog of store, menu and product pages.
- Growth support. Support the Growth team's A/B tests and conversion analysis by implementing test variants and the tracking that measures them.
- New site launches. Launch new sites from our shared codebase, each with its own analytics and content setup.
- Contractors. Direct and review the work of external contractors assigned to frontend and analytics work.
How we work
We run two-week sprints and ship weekly. Stories carry testable acceptance criteria, and done means tests pass, accessibility is verified, analytics events fire and the change is checked on staging. Pull requests stay small and get reviewed the same day. Blockers are raised the day you hit them, and every retro item becomes a ticket with an owner.
AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor are part of how we work every day. We want someone who already works this way, gives those tools good context, and checks their output against acceptance criteria and real production data rather than trusting a green build.
What you bring
- 5+ years building production React applications, including Next.js and TypeScript.
- 2+ years implementing analytics in code: GTM, GA4 and dataLayer design.
- Working SQL, ideally against GA4's BigQuery export.
- Experience integrating third-party commerce APIs.
- Accessible front-end work to WCAG standards, with automated tests as part of done.
- Scrum team experience, daily use of AI coding tools, and clear writing that a marketer or QA engineer can act on.
Nice to have
- Sweed, Dutchie, Jane or another menu and POS platform, or other regulated e-commerce.
- Technical SEO for large server-rendered sites.
- Cross-domain or iframe tracking, and browser privacy and consent constraints.
- Headless WordPress with ACF.
- Server-side tagging and experimentation platforms.
- Metabase, Looker or another BI tool.
