Civil Development Engineer

Tesla is seeking a Civil Engineer to support design and construction of industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities, including roadways, grading, and underground utilities. You will produce construction-ready Civil 3D deliverables, own CAD standards, and coordinate with architecture, structural, and MEP teams working in Revit. You will own your drawings from concept through issued for construction. This role is based in Austin.

Build civil plan sets for permit and construction, including existing conditions, demolition, erosion control, site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, street improvements, and earthwork quantities Apply storm drain hydraulics, inlet capacity, runoff estimation, detention and water quality sizing, and low-impact development measures Apply cut and fill balance, shrink and swell, subgrade preparation, engineered fill, slope setbacks, and bid-ready import and export quantities Own Civil 3D pipe networks, grading models, surfaces, profiles, sections, and finished-grade plans from concept through issued for construction Coordinate civil models with architecture, structural, and MEP teams in Revit, including shared coordinates, surfaces, alignments, and clash review Maintain CAD standards, including templates, plot styles, data shortcuts, xrefs, sheet sets, scales, and survey point processing Lead 30%, 60%, and 90% reviews and deliver drawing packages that construction teams can build from

Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 5 years of civil design experience on building, industrial, and site infrastructure projects Expert use of AutoCAD Civil 3D for plan production, pipe networks, and grading Demonstrated Civil 3D and Revit coordination on multi-discipline projects CAD management experience with templates, plot styles, data shortcuts, xrefs, and scaled drawing sets Working knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, soil mechanics, surveying, and site design Ability to work with a geographically distributed team and deliver under construction-driven schedules
