About this role

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Architecture - Securities Services.

In this role you will:

- Own medium to large value stream designs and complex change Target Operating Model (TOM) designs across the SSv businesses, ensuring outcomes are scalable, controllable and aligned to SSv strategy.

- Define end-to-end TOM designs for products and features with partner teams, aligned to the product strategy and roadmap, and proactively manage architectural risks, issues, dependencies and technical debt.

- Elicit, structure and translate client, regulatory and internal requirements into high-level TOM designs, covering service model, operating procedures, roles and responsibilities, controls, data and supporting technology.

- Establish and maintain core SSv business architecture artefacts (capability maps, value stream definitions and operating model design patterns) to ensure consistency and alignment with enterprise architecture and corporate strategy.

- Act as a senior advisor to business and technology leaders, facilitating outcome-led workshops to align on future-state vision, resolve key design decisions, and drive capability maturity and optimisation.

- Assess current-state capabilities and constraints, define transition states, and shape pragmatic roadmaps for future-state improvements, supporting digital, agile and innovation initiatives.

- Ensure TOM designs are cost-effective and remain fit for purpose through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of design activities to downstream teams through clear guardrails, decision records and implementation-ready outputs.

- Provide design governance and assurance across initiatives, ensuring adherence to Decision Driven Design and the Solution Architecture framework/standards, and supporting compliance, business case development and investment planning.

To be successful you will need:

- Strong business analysis capability with a proven technology and design background; able to structure ambiguity and solve complex problems with a strategic, outcomes-led mindset.

- Demonstrable experience shaping end-to-end operating model and/or solution designs for complex change, with a track record of translating business strategy and requirements into actionable designs, roadmaps and transition states.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge current state constructively, influence across the organisation, and drive timely decision-making with senior stakeholders and partners.

- Logical and resilient approach: calm, factual and evidence-based, with strong negotiation skills and sound judgement under pressure.

- Securities Services domain knowledge (or closely related banking/markets/transaction services experience), with the ability to apply business architecture principles, methods and tools to solve business challenges and optimise operating model outcomes.

- Proficiency in process and operating model modelling techniques (e.g., BPMN/UML) and familiarity with recognised enterprise/business architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, BIZBOK). Candidates with strong prior Target Operating Model delivery experience will be considered even without formal framework certification.

- Awareness of digital transformation and emerging technology trends (e.g., cloud, AI, automation) and the ability to assess their practical applicability to TOM design and service delivery.
