• Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement
• Relentless drive to win
Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
• Supplier Strategy and Selection — Partner with sourcing, engineering and operations to identify, assess and select capable suppliers for PV DC cables, connectors, terminals, over-molded joints, fuses, busbars, combiner boxes, disconnects, harness assemblies and related balance-of-system components.
• Supplier Qualification and Process Audits — Lead supplier risk assessments, self-assessments, capability reviews and onsite audits covering quality systems, manufacturing processes, special processes, traceability, change control, capacity, testing, EHS and business continuity.
• Product Qualification and NPI — Define and drive FAI / PPAP deliverables, process flow, PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, MSA / Gage R&R, SPC, capability studies, material and compliance certificates, reliability validation, end-of-line testing and certificate-of-conformity documentation.
• eBOS Product and Process Quality — Develop quality controls for trunk bus, NX PowerMerge, combiner box and harness products, including conductor and cable performance, connector and terminal integrity, crimp and over-molding processes, contact resistance, polarity, insulation and dielectric testing, fuse and disconnect functionality, sealing, ingress protection, mechanical retention and traceability.
• Supplier Quality Issue Resolution — Act as a subject matter expert for supplier quality issues, NCRs and customer escalations. Lead containment, root-cause analysis, 8D / SCAR corrective actions, effectiveness verification and lessons learned, with particular focus on electrical, connection, environmental and field-reliability risks.
• Supplier Performance and Continuous Improvement — Establish supplier quality metrics and scorecards, conduct periodic quality reviews, support maintenance audits and drive improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, DOE, capability analysis and other structured quality methods.
• Compliance and Risk Management — Support evidence and certification readiness for applicable UL, IEC, environmental, transportation and customer-specific requirements; identify supply-chain risks and implement mitigation plans for capacity, technology, quality, obsolescence and lifecycle support.
• Inspection and Customer Delivery Quality — Provide technical support to incoming inspection and receiving quality, including sampling plans, inspection procedures, measurement-system analysis, statistical analysis, Material Review Board decisions and supplier-provided test-data review. Support customer samples, first-article approvals, project delivery readiness, field installation and customer escalations; ensure quality documentation, deviation control, shipment release and corrective-action communication are complete and timely.
• Cross-Functional Communication — Communicate quality status, risks, decisions and escalation requirements clearly in Chinese and English to internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers as needed.
Here is some of what you'll need (required):
• Bachelor's degree in quality, mechanical, electrical, materials, industrial engineering or a related field.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, NPI quality or process engineering, preferably in utility-scale solar, PV electrical balance-of-system, cable / harness, connectors, combiner equipment, power distribution or related electrical and electromechanical products.
• Hands-on experience with supplier audits, APQP / PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, process capability analysis, 8D and structured root-cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of cable and wire harness manufacturing, crimping, over-molding, connectors, busbars, fuses, disconnects, sheet-metal / enclosure fabrication, electrical testing, packaging and other relevant manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and to translate product safety, reliability, performance and installation requirements into supplier process controls and inspection plans.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, influence suppliers and drive actions to closure in a fast-moving product-development and delivery environment.
• Fluent Mandarin Chinese and good command of English, both written and verbal; willingness to travel regularly to supplier sites in China.
Preferred qualifications:
