About this role

About us

Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

General Purpose of Role

Senior, market-recognised leader who builds Worley Consulting’s credibility and profitable growth in the EMEA Data Centers market. Worley already has strong power, infrastructure, environmental and sustainability capability in the region; the gap is market credibility and direct access to the largest data center customers. The role closes that gap by bringing an established industry reputation, proven data center delivery experience and senior relationships with hyperscalers, colocation and platform operators, developers and relevant energy providers.

Positions Worley’s differentiated power-led offering – grid access, energy sourcing and regulatory compliance first – with these customers, converts their needs into integrated Worley solutions, and sponsors the pursuit and delivery of strategic engagements.

A customer engagement and growth leadership role rather than a conventional sales role: leads customer relationships and growth in close alignment with Worley’s sales and delivery teams, developing opportunities through to full-scale project delivery and drawing on expertise across the entire Consulting operation, as data center requirements span hubs and service lines. The role is predominantly externally focused, with approximately 80% of time directed toward customers, markets and growth activities and approximately 20% toward internal coordination and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Market Credibility & Customer Access

- Open and grow direct, senior relationships with hyperscalers and the largest colocation operators across EMEA.
Lead a focused portfolio of strategic customers and prospects across EMEA, creating access to early-stage, high-value opportunities.
- Represent Worley as a recognised voice and trusted advisor on power- and infrastructure-constrained development through industry events, customer forums and thought leadership.
- Leverage personal data center delivery credentials to establish Worley as a credible delivery partner and help build EMEA reference projects.

Customer Engagement & Growth

- Develop and maintain customer growth plans for the agreed portfolio, defining relationship priorities, customer needs, growth ambition, opportunity pathways and required Worley capabilities.
- Lead account and opportunity shaping, converting customer priorities into clear value propositions, win strategies and actionable pursuits.
- Work with the relevant Worley sales and delivery teams to drive revenue and as-sold gross margin growth, customer retention, disciplined pipeline conversion and development of opportunities for full-scale project delivery.

Offering & Capability Alignment

- Shape and refine the power-led Data Centers offering around grid access, connection conditions, energy sourcing and regulatory compliance, grounded in subregional market realities.
- Mobilise technical leads and specialists across Consulting hubs and service lines – power, cooling, water, environmental and social, site and permitting, digital, reliability and infrastructure – together with Worley Services, into integrated customer solutions.
- Identify capability gaps and help establish strategic partnerships where they strengthen customer access, credibility or delivery capability.

Pursuit & Delivery Leadership

- Lead or sponsor strategic pursuits, including bid/no-bid input, capture strategy, executive engagement and presentation of complex proposals.
- Act as Project Sponsor for key engagements, remaining actively involved through execution – maintaining senior customer alignment, working with delivery teams to resolve issues and sharing accountability for successful outcomes.
- Convert lessons from pursuits and delivery into stronger methods, references, reusable pursuit content and follow-on opportunities.

Market Positioning & Competitive Advantage

- Where to compete: recommend which markets, customer segments and emerging opportunities deserve investment, and which do not.
- How to win: identify where Worley can build a defensible advantage over competitors, including what must change as the market evolves.

Measures of Success

- Direct senior relationships established with hyperscalers and major colocation operators, converted into pursuits.
- Revenue and as-sold gross margin growth against agreed Data Centers targets.
- Creation and conversion of strategic opportunities, including lead-to-RFP conversion and bid/proposal success rate.
- Pull-through from consulting engagements into larger-scale Worley project delivery.
- Number and quality of EMEA data center reference projects completed or in delivery.
- Uptake of the power-led offering – grid access, energy sourcing and regulatory compliance – in customer pursuits and wins.
- Effective mobilisation of expertise across Consulting, Worley Services and strategic partners.
- Customer satisfaction, delivery outcomes on sponsored engagements and generation of follow-on work.
- Secondary indicator – market visibility: contributions at industry events, forums and publications.

Additional Technical Information

- Geographic Scope: Europe, Middle East and Africa.
- Base Location: London preferred; Madrid considered for strong candidates.
- Target Appointment: In place by end of calendar year 2026, with flexibility to secure the right candidate.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the data center development lifecycle and of the grid access, connection, energy sourcing and regulatory compliance constraints that shape investment and delivery in EMEA, with the ability to integrate adjacent disciplines.
- Role Interfaces: Consulting EMEA leadership and Data Centers initiative leadership; delivery leaders and technical leads across Consulting hubs and service lines; Hub Leads, Sales/Business Development and Inside Sales; Worley Services and global Data Centers teams; strategic partners and priority customers.
- Role Boundaries: Leads customer relationships, market growth and strategic pursuits, and shares accountability for outcomes on sponsored engagements. P&L and day-to-day delivery management sit with the relevant delivery leaders; technical authority and solution assurance sit with technical and discipline leads. Ownership is agreed per account and opportunity.

Qualifications & Experience

- University degree in engineering, business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
15+ years of relevant experience, including senior roles in the data center sector and a proven track record of data center delivery and capital project development from an engineering, finance or regulatory perspective.
- Established industry reputation and senior relationships with hyperscalers, colocation operators, developers and/or energy providers, ideally across EMEA.
- Demonstrated record of winning new work and leading complex, multidisciplinary pursuits across functions, geographies and organisational boundaries.
- Executive-level communication and influencing skills; credible with customer executives, regulators and industry bodies.

Skills & Attributes

- Market credibility: recognised and trusted by data center customers; opens doors in their own name.
- Strategic and market-led thinking: sees where customer demand, power constraints and Worley capabilities intersect.
- Commercial drive: prioritises opportunities, advances decisions and remains accountable for outcomes.
- Enterprise leadership: mobilises expertise across hubs and service lines without creating silos; leads through influence.
- Delivery mindset: protects customer outcomes and Worley’s reputation beyond the point of sale.
