Head of Finance - Kuwait

Arla MENA is the largest and most profitable Region within Arla’s International Zone and comprise various JV models in big markets such as Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman, as well as growth drivers like Kuwait and Iraq, and a distributor sales model towards several other MENA markets. MENA has been on a strong growth trajectory and plans are in place to continue the strong growth in the coming years.

As Head of Finance, you will play a central role in strengthening the financial performance of our Kuwait business, operating across Arla, our local JV partner and the Kuwait leadership team. You will ensure strong financial governance and transparency while helping evolve the finance agenda towards deeper performance management and commercial decision support.

You will be located at the head office of Arla Foods Kuwait in Salmiya, with direct reporting line to the Finance Director located in Dubai and a dotted line to the local GM of Arla Foods Kuwait. Additionally, you will be working closely with the finance team in our local partner company as well as the Senior Finance Manager looking after our Rest of Markets business cluster.

How would you make an impact

You will play a key role in driving the finance agenda in our Kuwait business, and responsibilities will include (but is not limited to)

- Own the management and presentation of the JV Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow).
- Lead monthly closing and financial forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and transparency of business performance.
- Ensure the accurate financial reflection of Trade and Marketing investments, including BDA, TPR, returns and campaign discounts, within the existing ERP systems.
- Drive the commercial performance dialogue, developing reporting, profitability analysis and financial insights to support better business decisions
- Develop greater transparency of profitability across the business, including deeper understanding of performance across channels, customers and SKUs.

- Ensure high quality statutory reporting according to international laws and regulations (i.e. IFRS) and Arla Foods guidelines to relevant stakeholders

- Own and drive Net Working Capital performance, including oversight of credit controlling activities.
- Act as the key finance interface across Arla Foods, the local JV partner and external and internal auditors, ensuring alignment and clarity on financial and technical accounting matters.

The role is broad, and you will be responsible for our core finance processes like consolidation of the monthly results and the monthly financial forecasts, while assisting with analysis and preparation of material for the Kuwait Leadership Team. In addition to this, you will take an important role as finance business partner to the commercial team in Kuwait, providing transparency into our performance and help the team drive our business forward.

What will make you successful

You hold a degree in Economics, Finance or Management Accounting and +5 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably within Accounting and/or as a finance analyst/ business partner. As you will be responsible for both our accounting agenda as well as our performance management agenda, so you will need the skills – and the appetite – to drive both.
