Position: Medical Receptionist / Administrative Support
Location: Integrated Health of Southern Illinois
Availability: Monday–Friday, with shifts between 7:45 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Pay Range: $17.00 -$21.00 an hour

Position Summary

The Medical Receptionist primarily supports front desk operations, greeting patients, assisting with check-in and check-out, and maintaining an organized and professional environment. Because front desk coverage is shared between two receptionists, this position also assists with Customer Service Representative (CSR) and administrative tasks during non-front-desk hours.

This role requires flexibility, organization, teamwork, and a commitment to patient experience. Cross training in other administrative areas may be required to help maintain efficient clinic operations and continuity of care.

Duties and Responsibilities

Front Desk Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally and warmly
Verify and update patient demographic information at each visit
Collect co-payments or balances owed
Schedule follow-up appointments as needed
Obtain patient authorization for medical record releases in accordance with HIPAA
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the waiting area and front desk

Other duties as assigned

CSR / Administrative Support (during non-front-desk hours):
Support the CSR team with patient communication and administrative tasks
Help ensure voicemail and messages are addressed timely
Assist with gathering and updating patient information in EMR
Address routine patient concerns and escalate as needed
Maintain organized workflows and professional workspaces
Cross-train in other administrative areas to support clinic workflow

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent required

- 1+ year of medical receptionist or healthcare administrative experience preferred

- Customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred
