Project Trainee-Legal

Job Description

The Project Trainee will provide proactive, detail-oriented support to the in-house Legal team. The role offers practical exposure to legal technology and AI adoption, contract lifecycle management, commercial contracting, litigation support, legal research and continuous process improvement.

- Contribute to legal technology and AI initiatives, including the development of training materials, user guidance and supporting documentation.
- Support the adoption of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform through data migration, template creation, testing and user training.
- Help standardize contracting processes by maintaining contract templates, clause banks, playbooks and self-service guidance.
- Conduct legal research and provide support for governance, compliance and departmental projects.
- Assist with the review, drafting and redlining of commercial contracts under the guidance of the Legal Counsel.
- Support litigation and dispute-related matters through document management, case preparation and maintenance of matter trackers.
- Maintain accurate records, trackers and supporting documentation while handling multiple priorities in a timely manner.

Note: Its a one year contractual role.

Qualifications

Essential

- Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong interest in corporate and commercial law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred

- Prior internship experience in a law firm or an in-house legal team.
- Exposure to CLM systems or legal technology platforms.
- Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in their responsible application in legal work.
- Interest in antitrust, corporate, procurement or contract management law.
