About this role

Our mission is to accelerate the progress of the fashion ecosystem. For the brands that make it. For the factories that build it. We are a B2B fashion supply chain company on that path to a billion dollars in sales by 2030, already working with some of the largest brands in fashion, in Spain and the UK. Around 200 of us build it from Dhaka, London and Barcelona, and around 150 of us are in Dhaka. Every order we make for those brands leaves Bangladesh on paper before it leaves on a ship: the invoice, the packing list, the booking, the handover. Get the paper right and the shipment moves on time. Get it wrong and it sits at the port. We are hiring a Commercial Executive in Dhaka, in our Finance team: someone with a finance background who wants to learn the whole order cycle from the inside and own it early. This is a builder's seat, not a back office.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU APPLY

We hire for the wiring, not the CV. This seat needs a finance mind, accuracy and urgency: someone who reads a document line by line, moves today, and says so the moment a date or a number is wrong. We work six days a week. If you want a quiet accounts desk, this is not it. If you want to learn how a fashion order becomes a shipment and a payment, end to end, in your first year, it is.

LOCATION: DHAKA | WEEK: SIX DAYS, 9 TO 6 | REPORTS TO: TEAM LEAD, COMMERCIAL

01 THE ROLE

Every order leaves on paper first. That paper is yours.

Nitex is a design-forward fashion supply chain platform. We give brands fresh designs, flexible minimum order quantities, fast and compliant manufacturing, and real-time visibility into production. Partner factories in Bangladesh make the orders. This seat makes sure every order ships right.

You sit between the factory and the buyer, and between the paperwork and the shipment. Nothing ships without touching your desk first. You join the commercial team inside Finance, you report to its Team Lead, and you learn the cycle by running it, from the purchase order to the handover.

A shipment is only as good as its paperwork. A wrong invoice, a wrong customs code or a booking made a day late can hold a container at the port and cost the account real money, and the buyer's trust with it. You are the check between what the factory promises and what actually leaves the country.

A What you will actually do

- Prepare invoices and packing lists, by hand and on buyer and admin portals, right the first time.

- Run the order cycle with the factory: the purchase order (PO), the proforma invoice (PI) and the sales contract, through order execution, shipment booking, handover and documentation.

- Chase forwarders and clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents, by portal and by phone, until transport is booked and the shipment moves on time, with accurate documents behind it.

- Keep buyers and our offices in London and Barcelona updated on shipment and payment status, regularly and clearly, before anyone has to ask.

- Track every order and map every shipment in our internal reporting system, so the tracker matches what is actually happening at the port.

- Flag a risk the hour you see it: a late booking, a document that does not match the order, a payment that has not landed.

B Why this seat is different

Most junior commercial jobs are a corner of a process: you type the documents and somebody else owns the shipment. Here you own the cycle end to end, for brands that sell across Europe, with a team in three cities waiting on your update. You will learn how a fashion order becomes a shipment, and a shipment becomes a payment, and you will be trusted with it early. Get good fast, and you will not be junior for long.

THE STANDARD

Every document right the first time. Every booking on time. Every buyer updated before they ask. The tracker true at every check. That is the whole scoreboard, every single day.

02 WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We hire for mindset first. Mindset is what runs a startup. The CV comes second.

A The mindset, non-negotiable

- Accurate by habit. A wrong quantity, a wrong price or a wrong date costs the account money and costs the buyer's trust. You check, then you check again.

- Numbers-minded. You come from finance. You read an invoice the way an accountant reads a ledger, and a number that does not add up stops you.

- High urgency. Today, not tomorrow. When a booking is at risk you move on it now, and when you cannot close it today you say when you will.

- Ownership. Once you know the cycle, you run it without being told twice. If an order is on your list, it is yours until it ships.

- You flag problems early. When something has gone wrong, you say so straight away, to the person who needs to hear it. You do not go quiet.

- Persistent. Forwarders, agents and factories get followed up until the answer is yes, politely, by portal and by phone.

- Hungry to learn. You want the full order cycle in your hands within a year, and you pull it toward you instead of waiting to be handed it.

- Clear in two languages. Your updates are short and exact: in English to buyers and our offices, in Bengali to factories and agents.

B The kind of background that fits

This is an early-career seat, not a first job. We want one to two years of real experience and a finance background, so the numbers are never new to you on Day 1.

- A finance background: a degree in finance, accounting or a related business subject, and one to two years in a finance, accounts or commercial team.

- Ideally at a garments manufacturer or a freight forwarder, where you handled export documents, invoices or shipment bookings yourself. Freight-forwarding experience counts for a lot.

- Good communication in both Bengali and English, written and spoken.

- Quick with spreadsheets and portals, and quicker to learn new ones. You do not need to know our systems yet; you need to learn them in a week.

- Based in Dhaka, or ready to be, and ready for a six-day week.

Do not apply if

- You want a five-day week. We work six days, 9 to 6, and shipments do not wait.

- You have no finance or accounts background. This seat needs it from Day 1.

- You are a fresh graduate with no working experience yet. Come back in a year with a record.

- You want to be told exactly what to do every time. This job runs on initiative once you know the basics.

- You go quiet when something has gone wrong instead of flagging it immediately.

- Document accuracy is not something you take seriously. A wrong document here costs us money and costs us the buyer's trust.

- You want a quiet back-office desk. Here the work gets done, whatever it takes.

03 SUCCESS, REWARD, AND HOW TO APPLY

What good looks like, how you are paid, and the questions that decide whether we talk.

A What success looks like

First 30 days

You understand how a purchase order becomes a booked, handed-over shipment, end to end. You prepare a clean invoice and packing list without help, and every live order of yours is in the tracker.

First 90 days

Forwarders and C&F agents know you will be on top of documents and dates before they have to ask. Buyers and our offices get shipment and payment updates before they chase you.

By Day 150

You own the cycle for your orders end to end. Nothing slips because you did not follow up. The tracker is always right, because you keep it right.

B How you are paid

A base set for the role and the city, paid in BDT. Your pay grows when you deliver more value than you are already paid for, not with age or tenure. ESOP, our employee share option plan, is earned, not granted by default. We pay for the work and we promote on it. Get good fast, and you will not be junior for long.

C How to apply

Do not send a CV alone. Send your CV and short, specific answers to the four questions while applyinh. We read the answers first. Vague answers do not move forward.

A NOTE ON HOW WE HIRE

Every hire at Nitex is tested on four of our Ten Values, our deal breakers: Pursue Ambitious Goals, Champion Mindset, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Stay Hungry, Stay Humble. Below the bar on any one of them ends the process; the panel weighs the other six. For this seat the process also includes a real work test: you will check a set of shipment documents against the order with us, against the clock. We would rather hire a hungry builder with a gap than a settled CV.
