About this role

Description

This Construction Manager role owns and advances Amazon's Critical Infrastructure (CI) program across the retail grocery store portfolio for WWRGD. Sitting at the intersection of capital program delivery and in-store operational continuity, this role defines how infrastructure retrofit and replacement scopes are planned, bid, and executed across live store environments. The position serves as the connective tissue between internal stakeholders (Design Standards, Program Design, Store Operations, Finance) and the general contractors, engineers, and specialty vendors who deliver work in the field. Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end delivery of CI scopes — Vertical Transportation Modernization (VT MOD), roofing and roof replacements, lighting retrofits, exterior signage and paint, and PAR equipment replacement — managing budgets, schedules, and change orders; driving the CI annual outlook and projects carrying into the following year; governing retrofit standards and contracting strategy; and serving as the primary construction subject matter expert across internal and external partners. Critically, this is a hands-on delivery role — the candidate owns scope, cost, and schedule outcomes directly, in occupied and operating stores.

Key job responsibilities
The scope of the role includes owning an enterprise-wide infrastructure program end-to-end across a multi-site portfolio, serving as the primary SME across internal and external stakeholders, and driving cross-functional governance and contracting strategy. The right candidate should demonstrate high judgment, ownership, and ability to operate autonomously with minimal guidance.
