About this role
What you'll do
Design, build, and test avionics subsystems (power distribution, data buses, sensor interfaces, flight computer integration) to meet requirements set by the avionics architecture lead.
Support development and upkeep of avionics requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification & validation (V&V) test plans.
Execute avionics AIT (assembly, integration & test) activities: write and run test procedures, capture data, and support anomaly investigation and root-cause analysis.
Support supplier and vendor coordination for avionics components (flight computers, sensors, actuators, harnessing) — including incoming inspection, qualification testing, and non-conformance tracking.
Contribute to flight readiness reviews and perform post-test/post-flight data analysis and reporting.
Maintain avionics design and test documentation in line with applicable export control classifications and configuration management practices.
Collaborate day-to-day with GNC, propulsion, and structures engineers to resolve interface and integration issues.
Who You Are
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Hands-on experience with avionics system design or integration on complex vehicles (aerospace, defence, automotive, or comparable high-reliability domain)
- Working knowledge of avionics architectures: power distribution, data buses (e.g. CAN, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet), sensor integration, flight computers.
- Experience with electronics lab test equipment, test procedure execution, and data capture/analysis.
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional, fast-paced hardware development environment.
- Strong written communication for technical documentation (ICDs, test reports, non-conformance records)
What we offer
- A mission-driven environment with the opportunity to work on one of Europe's most consequential defence challenges, with direct impact on sovereign capability and security.
- Daily collaboration with top experts across engineering, operations, and defence, with real opportunity to learn from the best, contribute, and grow.
- High ownership and autonomy; no time tracking, no micromanagement, just clear objectives and accountability for outcomes.
- A fast-paced environment where good ideas are implemented quickly, and feedback from test and flight drives real decisions.
- A culture that values clarity, integrity, and excellence, and supports people who take initiative and push boundaries responsibly.
- Competitive compensation and real share options aligned to responsibility and impact, not tenure or hierarchy.
