The ePMO team delivers programs and services that advance valuable organizational initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget. Our focus is on maximizing business outcomes for Canadian Blood Services and the people in Canada we serve.

As the Associate Director, Portfolio Governance and Value Realization, you will lead value realization and benefits tracking activities aligned with corporate strategy, corporate funding cycles, and the delivery of high-visibility projects and programs across the organization.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Program Enablement & Project Management Office, you will lead ePMO-led value realization activities across enterprise programs and provide guidance to support value-informed decision-making. You will contribute to enterprise portfolio management and reporting for all corporate priority projects, including ePMO projects; escalate issues requiring executive attention; and provide leadership to enterprise projects coordinated through process management. You will also ensure compliance with corporate portfolio reporting requirements and support the execution of select projects within the portfolio by fostering collaboration and integration across divisions. In addition, you will provide a challenge function across other ePMO activities, including reporting, automation and artificial intelligence (AI), data and analytics, and alignment with corporate strategy.

Formula for success

- Leveraging your skills in ePMO operations, you will oversee value realization driven through programs, providing leadership, coordination, and management of enterprise PMO processes and functions.

- Applying your expertise in value realization leadership, you will oversee the development of proposals and business cases, as required, to help articulate anticipated benefits and the value proposition.

- Demonstrating your skills in influencing and negotiating, you will motivate and coach staff for high performance, act with transparency, and promote a problem-solving mindset and collaborative culture.

- Utilizing your experience in benefits management and performance measurement, you will ensure all centrally delivered projects and programs have defined benefits, measured using key performance indicators, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner, and incorporate effective change and risk management controls.

- Drawing on your skills in project interdependency management and prioritization, you will identify, manage, and address interdependencies between projects and prioritization to drive the greatest value.

- Demonstrating your ability to lead with empathy and emotional intelligence, you will apply the advanced soft skills required to lead and motivate others to achieve deliverables, particularly when priorities and expectations may be in conflict.

- Contributing your expertise in strategic initiatives and project leadership, you will take a lead role in developing and maintaining various initiatives and participate in special projects and corporate initiatives as assigned by the Director.

- Applying your skills in performance improvement and governance, you will identify opportunities to improve performance and apply fit-for-purpose processes that balance governance and empowerment.

- Fostering your strengths in people leadership and talent development, you will create a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive team environment by setting clear expectations, developing talent, supporting career growth and succession planning, and promoting continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development.

- Applying your analytical and problem-solving skills, you will use your seasoned experience and knowledge to analyze highly complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, innovative solutions. This will often require deeper investigation of conflicting information and novel thinking to establish solutions.
