About this role

Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Digital Asset Management team, part of our wider Asset and Information Management practice.

You will help our clients and project teams get greater value from their asset and project information by turning data into trusted insight and developing practical digital solutions that improve how information is captured, analysed, visualised and used.

This is a hands-on role combining data analysis, Power BI and Power Automate. You will work with a range of stakeholders to understand their needs, interrogate and improve data, develop dashboards and reporting solutions, and automate processes that would otherwise rely on repetitive manual activity.

The role is suited to someone who already has practical data analytics experience and is ready to take ownership of defined pieces of work while continuing to develop their technical and consulting skills.

This is a UK-based role, with opportunities to be based from our London, Birmingham or Bristol offices.

Your role

- Gathering, cleaning, structuring and analysing data from multiple sources.
- Building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations.
- Designing and developing Power Automate flows to automate data and information processes.
- Using Power Query to transform and combine data from different sources.
- Analysing asset, project and business data to identify trends, issues and opportunities.
- Working with clients and project teams to understand business problems and translate them into practical data and digital solutions.
- Defining and maintaining meaningful KPIs, measures and reporting requirements.
- Assessing data quality and identifying gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Developing repeatable and maintainable solutions that reduce reliance on manual processes.
- Documenting data sources, assumptions, calculations and transformations to maintain traceability.
- Communicating analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Digital Asset Management, Information Management and wider project disciplines.
- Taking ownership of defined tasks and deliverables and delivering them to agreed quality and timescales.

About you

- You will be curious, analytical and enjoy solving problems with data. You should be comfortable questioning what the data is telling you, understanding the business problem behind a request and developing practical solutions rather than simply producing reports.
- You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, communicate complex information clearly and build effective relationships with colleagues and clients. Attention to detail is important, but so is the ability to understand the wider purpose of the work and how data can support better decisions.
- We are interested in what you can do rather than expecting everyone to have followed the same route into data analytics. You may have a degree, apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience in data analytics, data science, computer science, mathematics, engineering, information management or another relevant discipline.
- You will already have experience applying data analysis and digital tools in a professional environment and be keen to continue developing your technical, analytical and consulting capabilities.

You will have practical experience in:

- Microsoft Power BI, including developing dashboards and reports.
- Microsoft Power Automate, including designing and maintaining automated workflows.
- Microsoft Excel and Power Query for analysing, manipulating and transforming data.
- Working with structured datasets, including data cleansing, validation and analysis.
- Translating business requirements into practical analytical or digital solutions.
- Communicating data and analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Managing your own workload and taking ownership of defined pieces of work.

Experience in some of the following would also be beneficial:

- Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, or with data extracted from or integrated with EAM platforms.
- SQL and/or Python.
- Microsoft Power Apps.
- Microsoft SharePoint.
- Asset management or asset information.
- Data modelling, data quality and information governance.
- Common Data Environments or engineering information systems.
- Infrastructure, engineering or construction projects.
- Automating reporting, data processing or information management activities.
