About this role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated banker to join a dynamic team and contribute meaningfully to our Investment Banking franchise.

Our EMEA EPRM team originates and executes public and private M&A and capital markets transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients across the power and renewables value chain. We maintain deep relationships with leading companies and investors across subsectors including Utilities and IPPs, Renewables (onshore/offshore wind, solar, hydro), Energy Storage, Grid and Networks (transmission/distribution, interconnectors), Flexible Generation and Energy Services, Clean Energy Infrastructure, and emerging decarbonisation themes (e.g., hydrogen and power-to-X, CCUS-enabled power solutions where relevant).

The Power and Renewables team is part of our broader Natural Resources platform spanning Energy, Power, Renewables and Mining, and we work jointly with the Energy team on many clients and projects, particularly where mandates intersect with energy transition, infrastructure and integrated value chains.

Role Overview

As a Vice President in the Power and Renewables coverage team, you will lead day‑to‑day execution on live transactions and play a key role in client coverage and origination. You will manage analysts and associates, partner closely with senior bankers, and collaborate with cross‑border colleagues and product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM, LevFin, Ratings/Credit) to deliver best‑in‑class advice.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the origination and execution of complex M&A and capital markets transactions (buy‑side, sell‑side, take‑privates, carve‑outs, JVs; where relevant, platform build-ups, asset/portfolio sales, and structured minority investments) across Power and Renewables.

- Oversee and review financial analysis, valuation and modelling (DCF, trading and transaction comps, merger models, LBOs, accretion/dilution), ensuring analytical rigour and accuracy; incorporate sector‑specific drivers such as contract structures (PPAs/CfDs), merchant exposure, regulatory frameworks and inflation/indexation features.

- Develop and present strategic advice and materials to clients, including board‑level executives; contribute to idea generation and pipeline development aligned to EMEA Power and Renewables themes (e.g., grid investment cycles, storage economics, offshore wind market dynamics, capital recycling).

- Coordinate workstreams with internal product partners and external advisers (legal, accounting, technical, market and regulatory diligence providers) across jurisdictions.

- Drive marketing initiatives, pitches and thought leadership tailored to subsector dynamics, power price and commodity linkages, policy/regulatory developments and market structure changes.

- Mentor and develop junior team members; set quality standards, provide training and feedback; support recruiting activities.

- Ensure high‑quality deliverables, strong client relationships and adherence to internal risk, conduct and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

- Significant Investment Banking experience with a strong track record in Power and Renewables across products.

- Proven project leadership and process management skills; ability to run multiple cross‑border transactions under tight timelines.

- Advanced quantitative and analytical abilities, including expert Excel modelling and valuation.

- Demonstrated origination contribution (idea generation, relationship development, pitch leadership) and an ability to convert opportunities.

- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts clearly and defend recommendations.

- Proactive ownership mindset; highly organised, detail‑oriented and decisive.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; advanced degree a plus.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

- Additional European language skills.

- Experience with financial sponsors and infrastructure investors active in EMEA (including renewables funds, pension/insurance capital, and strategic infrastructure platforms).

- Familiarity with power market fundamentals, policy and regulatory frameworks, and technical/commercial diligence topics relevant to Power and Renewables (e.g., resource assessment, grid connection, construction/operational risk, contract structures, curtailment and balancing considerations).
