The role will combine technical fund accounting oversight with people leadership, capacity planning and the staged transition of work into the team.

The Vice President will initially support the review of selected co-investment funds and overflow assignments from other Oaktree offices. As the team develops, the role will support the assessment and phased transition of suitable, relatively straightforward preparation work from third-party service providers to the in-house team. The Vice President will work closely with the strategies’ fund accounting leadership, Hyderabad leadership, fund accounting teams in other offices, internal partners and external service providers to deliver accurate, timely and well-controlled reporting.

Responsibilities

- Resource and Capacity Planning: Assess resourcing requirements, allocate work across the team, monitor capacity and recommend changes needed to support current and anticipated workloads.
- Review Support: Partner with fund accounting teams in other Oaktree offices to onboard reviews for selected co-investment funds and overflow assignments, with clear ownership, timelines, escalation protocols and quality standards.
- Transition Management: Support a controlled, phased transition of appropriate fund preparation activities from third-party service providers to Hyderabad, beginning with the most straightforward funds and expanding as team capability and capacity develop.
- Fund Accounting Oversight: Oversee the review of monthly and quarterly close activities, including cash and investment reconciliations, portfolio activity, pricing and valuation support, expense accruals and management fee calculations.
- Review partner and investor allocations, incentive calculations, capital calls, distributions and other capital activity in accordance with governing documents.
- Financial Reporting: Review quarterly and annual financial statements and related reporting prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP, together with supporting schedules and audit deliverables.
- Review fund and client-specific performance calculations and consolidated information across the strategy, as applicable.
- Investment and Transaction Support: Understand the accounting and operational implications of distressed and opportunistic credit investments, including restructurings and other complex or event-driven transactions, and coordinate the appropriate treatment with relevant stakeholders.
- Cash and Liquidity Management: Oversee cash planning and liquidity monitoring for assigned funds, including commitments, drawdowns, distributions and the timely resolution of cash or position breaks.
- Service Provider Oversight: Review the quality and timeliness of work performed by external fund administrators, support issue resolution and service-provider discussions, and help assess activities that may be suitable for future transition in-house.
- Controls and Governance: Maintain effective financial reporting controls, review evidence and process documentation, and ensure procedures remain current as responsibilities move between teams or providers.
- Relationship Management: Coordinate with the investment team, client services, legal, tax, treasury, valuation, data management, auditors and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and meet fund requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen controls and increase operational scale. Collaborate with Technology and Reporting and Performance teams on automation and reporting solutions, including Power BI or similar tools where appropriate.
