Job Description:
The Retail Operations Specialist is a key role supporting the Mars Canada Retail Leadership Team . This individual contributor bridges the gap between technical data systems and business operations, ensuring our teams have the tools and data they need to run efficiently.
The role leads master data architecture and manages software systems used by the Retail team. Strong communication skills are required to translate technical systems into clear, actionable processes for retail stakeholders and to identify opportunities to optimize workflows.
What are we looking for?
- University degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of business experience, with a preference for backgrounds in retail operations or data systems.
- Analytics Platform: Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric, including Power BI and Azure.
- Database & Programming: Strong understanding of database management concepts and SQL query writing; familiarity with Python is preferred.
- Productivity Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Master Data Management: Guide the strategy, structure, and quality of retail master data (including banners, customers, and products).
- System Ownership: Oversee the implementation, administration, and team adoption of all retail software platforms in alignment with the Retail Leadership Team.
- Analytics & Reporting: Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to track and report on retail performance metrics.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Translate technical data strategies, system updates, and software training into clear, actionable processes for leadership and retail partners.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement technology-driven solutions to automate workflows and drive continuous improvement in retail operations.
