About this role

Fessler & Bowman is hiring an experienced Concrete Foreman to run crews on commercial projects across the Nashville area. You'll lead the work in the field, get a company truck or vehicle allowance and a company phone, and have a clear path to Superintendent.

Founded in 1963, Fessler & Bowman has grown from a residential flatwork and basement wall contractor into a Top 100 Commercial Concrete Contractor recognized nationwide. More than six decades in, customer satisfaction is still the core of how we work.

Why F&B in Tennessee

- Big, steady work. We go after larger-scale projects in one of the fastest-growing construction markets in the country: tilt-up, structural post-tension, slab on grade and slab on deck.

- Company truck or vehicle allowance , plus a company phone.

- A real path to Superintendent. We promote our foremen and want to grow our Tennessee leadership from within.

- You run your job. Our foremen lead their crews and projects with real authority, backed by a Superintendent and PM who answer the phone.

- We protect your work. No T&M or change-order work starts until the PM has a written commitment from the customer, so you're never left holding the bag on extras.

- Per diem for travel and overnight stays when a project calls for it.

Our values: Open & Constructive · Take Pride in Our Product · Relentless Commitment · Care About Our Customers · Team Success

The Role

Our Foremen are reliable leaders who command a crew and get the work done right. You'll keep your crew on target with job-site deadlines, run a safe site, and work closely with your Superintendent to keep customers satisfied and protect the Fessler & Bowman name.

Field Leadership

- Lead crews of 6+ through forming, placing and finishing on tilt-up, post-tension, slab on grade and slab on deck work.

- Set daily production goals and assign duties to qualified tradespeople to hit target production rates.

- Make sure forms are straight, plumb, square and aligned with grid lines, with correct elevations held.

- Make sure concrete is placed at the correct rate and properly consolidated and vibrated.

- Review, validate and shoot grades, and confirm elevations match the latest drawing revision.

- Interpret plans, shop drawings and specs, and clear up discrepancies before they become problems.

- Own the quality of every day's work and carry punch-list items through to completion.

- Coach and develop your crew.

Safety

- Run job-site safety inspections and toolbox talks, and point out hazards to the crew.

- Identify and correct unsafe acts on the spot.

- Ensure OSHA, safety and environmental compliance, and keep the site clean and safe.

- Complete incident reports promptly.

Running the Project

- Keep the PM updated daily on progress and any risks to schedule, quantities or manpower.

- Build the 3-week look-ahead and review it with the General Superintendent and PM.

- Validate take-off quantities and make sure materials, equipment and subcontractors are on site per the schedule.

- Order materials and schedule equipment and tools as assigned.

- Validate pour cards.

- Track equipment, forms, shoring and other assets, and remove them when work is complete.

- Manage demobilization of manpower, equipment and materials.

- Flag potential design, construction or scheduling problems to your Superintendent early.

- Make sure no T&M or change-order work starts until the PM confirms a written customer commitment, and track that work accurately.

Daily Reporting

- Enter timesheets with correct cost codes in Procore by 9:00 am for the previous day.

- Complete daily logs in Procore by 9:00 am: weather, notes, photos, equipment, deliveries, documents and work completed.

- Complete daily equipment inspections in Tenna.
