About this role

We are seeking an engaging, knowledgeable math educator to deliver high school math instruction on camera using a teleprompter. The ideal candidate has a strong command of the subject matter and can communicate mathematical concepts clearly, naturally, and confidently.

Contract Duration: January 2027 through approximately March 2028

Location: Filming studio located in Riverton Utah

Compensation: $125 per hour for on-site filming time

Project Responsibilities and Expectations

- Script preparation: Scripts will be provided in advance of filming. Contractors are expected to review and practice each script multiple times to ensure familiarity with the material, accurate delivery, and appropriate emphasis on key terms and concepts. Preparation time is not compensated separately.

- Filming schedule: Travel to the designated studio every other week to record approximately four lesson videos per session.

- On-camera presentation: Deliver instruction clearly and confidently, using appropriate pacing, emphasis, gestures, posture, and eye contact to engage viewers.

- Professional appearance: Provide personal hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Shirts may be rotated across multiple videos; a separate shirt for each video is not required.

- Transportation: Arrange and cover personal transportation to and from the filming studio.

- Compensation: $125 per hour for time spent recording at the studio. Script review, practice, and other preparation time are not paid separately.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or Secondary Math Education.

- Teaching experience: Experience teaching high school mathematics is strongly preferred, particularly Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. A thorough understanding of these subjects is required.

- Verbal communication: Clear, articulate, enthusiastic, and conversational speaking voice in General American English, without a strong regional dialect.

- On-camera presence: Ability to engage viewers through natural gestures, confident posture, appropriate facial expressions, and consistent eye contact with the camera.

- Teleprompter proficiency: Ability to read from a teleprompter smoothly and naturally while maintaining an engaging instructional delivery.

- On-camera experience: Previous on-camera instructional or presentation experience is preferred.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a 30–60-second video sample demonstrating their on-camera presence and communication skills. The sample may be:

- An excerpt from previous on-camera work, or

- A new recording of the applicant teaching a mathematical concept.

Smartphone recordings are acceptable. Professional camera equipment is not required; the primary focus is the applicant's presentation, communication, and teaching ability rather than video production quality.

Screen Test

Candidates selected for further consideration will be required to complete an in-person screen test at the filming studio within two weeks of selection. A script will be provided in advance to assess the candidate's ability to deliver instructional content naturally and effectively on camera.
